Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 449: Dangerous Item
Good heavens.
(Player Name) exclaimed “good heavens.”
He had always thought the Cain Continent was a game set in Western European medieval times, with very ordinary productivity and monotonous entertainment for its people.
Now, he retracted that opinion.
The fact was, human entertainment here was not only not dull but also became ever more colorful under the influence of magical elements.
Take these two “Love Sublimation Potions,” for example.
To be honest, he wanted to use these potions with Claudia to sublimate their feelings right now.
Two crystal bottles, one cold to the touch and the other warm, with a few small words on the caps after a moment of fiddling. The cap of the “Lava Scorching Fire” read “For External Use,” and the “Mysterious Ice Dream” read “For External or Internal Use.”
Just from these descriptions,
(Player Name) began to have some inappropriate thoughts.
For a time, he was stunned there.
Seeing (Player Name), who had been examining the cabinet, suddenly stop and let out a strange “hehehe” laugh, Claudia thought something was wrong. She walked over to (Player Name), placed a hand on his shoulder, and asked:
“What are you doing? Laughing so weirdly…”
(Player Name) snapped back to reality. He had intended to pack everything in the drawer into his player backpack, but Claudia’s sudden fright caused the “Lava Scorching Fire” bottle in his hand to fall onto the quilt.
“What is this…”
Claudia asked, picking up the crystal bottle curiously. She read the name and instructions on the bottle word for word:
“Love Sublimation Potion [Lava Scorching Fire]. When using, first apply to… until completely covered, then rub in circles… This, this, this…”
Claudia’s voice grew softer, her pretty face burning red, and she started to stutter.
“You good-for-nothing! I knew why you were laughing strangely! You’ve got all sorts of wicked ideas in your head!”
Shyness was only a fleeting moment for an experienced player like Claudia. She quickly regained her composure and pointed the finger directly at (Player Name).
She reached out to grab (Player Name)’s ear.
“Wrong, wrong! Forgive me, my lady!”
Her hand hadn’t even touched him yet, and (Player Name) began to beg for mercy.
Seeing Claudia’s flushed face, he thought she was angry. He said ingratiatingly:
“How about we just throw this thing away? I was just curious, and besides, our relationship doesn’t need any sublimation.”
With that, he was about to toss the “Lava Scorching Fire” and “Mysterious Ice Dream” out the window.
“Hey, don’t!”
Claudia swiftly caught the two crystal bottles that were about to fly out the window with her Mage Hand.
“Yaya, you this…”
(Player Name) stared in disbelief, a hint of anticipation brewing in his dazed eyes.
“Ahem…” Claudia cleared her throat, her face still red, and said solemnly, “These, these are all dangerous items. I’ll keep them for you for now. We can use them when needed in the future, but not now, not allowed!”
With that said,
(Player Name) had no objections and quickly agreed with joy.
“Oh, right, Yaya, these clothes and this quail egg…”
“Ahem, take them too~”
“Hooray! ✧٩(ˊωˋ*)و✧”
…
…
On the other side.
Under the extreme flight speed of the Blue Dragon.
Nobody Does Human Things and the other Elite Squad members were the first to arrive near Pine City.
To avoid causing panic and alerting the enemy,
Nobody Does Human Things had the Blue Dragon land in the mountainous area about two miles from Pine City.
He also kept his promise and paid Bryant 1,000 gold coins for his services.
“Pleasant cooperation.”
Nobody Does Human Things jumped off the dragon’s head and gave Bryant a dazzling smile.
“Hmph!”
Bryant rolled his eyes and gave Nobody Does Human Things no pleasant look.
With a flap of his wings, he soared into the sky. He even deliberately flapped his wings very forcefully, causing the Elite Squad members to stumble.
After a chaotic period,
Everyone recovered from the dust and flying debris.
“Brother Renshi, this Blue Dragon is too much. We hired him!”
Yu Ci patted the dust off his body.
He spat out dirt and leaves from his mouth indignantly.
The other players were also covered in dust.
They were all blown about by the air pressure from Bryant’s wings.
“It’s alright, don’t worry.”
Nobody Does Human Things twitched the corner of his mouth, revealing a cunning smile.
“I inquired earlier, Blue Dragon Bryant owes the King of Winter a large sum of money. And the King of Winter doesn’t allow him to take private jobs to pay off his debts. He must complete tasks that contribute to the Wintery Empire, such as transporting stone, building roads, constructing houses, acting as the King’s mount, or participating in theatrical performances… What do you think will happen if the King of Winter finds out Bryant earned 1,000 gold coins for just one trip?”
Leisurely Moment and Yu Ci’s minds conjured the image of the man who only awarded five copper coins per mission.
Thinking about what would happen to Bryant if he were discovered…
The King of Winter would probably criticize Bryant for competing with the common people for profit. Using this excuse, he would confiscate all 1,000 gold coins and even impose a fine on top of that!
At that point, Bryant would not only have made this trip for nothing, but he would also owe even more money. It was exciting to think about!
The Elite Squad members looked at each other and smiled gleefully.
Let that big stupid dragon flap his wings and blow them away.
Even if he was as cunning as a fox, he would still have to drink their players’ foot-washing water!
“So, Brother Renshi, when do we tell the King of Winter about this?”
“No rush,” Nobody Does Human Things shook his head.
“Actually, I hadn’t planned to say anything. Because Bryant is very useful to us players, and more and more players will try to build a good relationship with him in the future. It’s not worth offending him over such a small matter.”
This argument was reasonable.
The squad members nodded in agreement.
They were the last group of players to depart today, but they were the first to reach Pine City. Without the tool dragon Bryant, they would never have been able to catch up to the Azure Guard Guild, whose members were all riding Flying Dragons.
“Then, is this matter dropped?”
Yu Ci was somewhat unwilling.
He didn’t know what he had chewed on earlier, but his mouth had a strange taste. He remembered experiencing something similar during New Year’s when he used firecrackers to blow up dog feces. Now, it felt familiar.
“Whether it’s dropped or not depends on Bryant’s performance. I’ve already recorded the scene of him blowing us away with a Recording Stone. I’ll show it to him then, and he should know what to do.”
Upon hearing this, everyone gave a thumbs-up, praising Nobody Does Human Things for his deep foresight.
And on Nobody Does Human Things’ shoulder,
A statue of the King of Winter stood in place, gazing straight ahead.
…
…
“I regret to inform you that I am already aware of this matter.”
In an office in Winter Fort.
Xi Wei’s lips curled into a sinister smile.
