Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue) – Chapter 450: Secret
Xi Wei, who had sent the Players out, was not idle. He deeply regretted not being able to personally go to Pine City this time, but there was no helping it. After all, as a ruler of a nation, he had to manage a myriad of state affairs every day. While handling the affairs of Winter City, he quietly observed everything the elite Player squad was experiencing through the Summoning Statue. Of course, this included discovering the side hustle of Bryant, the Blue Dragon.
At this moment, Xi Wei was leaning on his bed. On his left and right were Loli feeding him cake and Ruo Yi massaging his shoulders. Before his eyes was a magical screen showing Nobody Does Human Things and his squad members laughing sinisterly. Loli noticed that when discussing Bryant, the Blue Dragon, Xi Wei’s smile was completely synchronized with that of the Foreigners. Normally, when Xi Wei showed such a smile, it meant someone was about to be unfortunate. Today, however, it seemed a Blue Dragon was destined to face misfortune.
“Master, are you planning to punish Bryant for taking on private jobs?”
“Hmm?” Xi Wei snapped out of his viewing of the “live stream” and looked at the little maid curled up beside him. Today, Loli had transformed Weina’s Holy Garment into a milky white bubble dress, exposing her snow-white arms and slender legs. Her tender pink feet opened and closed like palms playfully, looking utterly adorable.
Driven by instinct, Xi Wei reached out and grasped Loli’s tiny feet, gently playing with them. They felt warm and smooth, like jade soaked in warm water.
“Ah, Master… Elder Sister Ruo Yi is still here!” Loli exclaimed, thinking Xi Wei was about to play a naughty trick on her. Although their relationship was already intimate, it was broad daylight, and with Ruo Yi watching, how could she maintain her dignity?
“Ahem, don’t use me as a shield~” Ruo Yi hugged Xi Wei’s arm, revealing an evil smile with her little fangs peeking out from her lips. Clearly eager, she tightened her hold on Xi Wei’s arm, her ample softness rubbing against it, her pretty face gradually flushing.
Xi Wei wasn’t actually planning to do anything mischievous. After all, the most important matter now was to observe the situation in Pine City through Nobody Does Human Things’ perspective. Whatever he wanted to do could wait until evening; Loli and Ruo Yi wouldn’t run away. However, doing nothing wasn’t Xi Wei’s style either. So, he pinched Loli’s chin and teased, “What’s wrong? You’re still shy? You usually make flower cakes for me, and Ruo Yi finds them delicious too~”
“Ugh…” Loli’s face burned red, her small hands covering her face, her big watery eyes peeking through her fingers at Ruo Yi. “You, Elder Sister Ruo Yi, really ate them?”
“I did,” Ruo Yi admitted candidly. “And let me tell you, the flower cakes you make are indeed different from those bought outside. Did you add some special sauce? The floral scent seems much richer, and after eating them, I felt fragrant for a long time…”
She reached out and pinched Loli’s fluffy ears, leaning close to whisper, “Tell me, is there some secret recipe? Share it with me, and I’ll make them for Master too~”
Stimulated by the hot breath from Ruo Yi’s mouth, Loli’s furry ears twitched sharply, and she curled up into a ball, burying her face in Xi Wei’s chest, not daring to peek out. After a while, they heard her tiny voice, like a mosquito’s hum: “There’s no secret recipe… it’s just, just regular flower cakes…”
“Impossible!” Ruo Yi, knowing Loli well, was aware she wouldn’t lie and would blush and seek to hide when she did. So, this flavorful flower cake must hold some secret.
Seeing Loli wouldn’t tell, Ruo Yi decided to attack Loli’s weak points. Loli was most ticklish; by tickling her waist and the soles of her feet, she could confess anything, even what color Xi Wei’s underwear was today.
“Hehehe! Don’t blame me for being ruthless~” Ruo Yi directly went for her.
However, this time she miscalculated. No matter how she tickled, even as Loi laughed till tears flowed, Loi still wouldn’t confess. This only convinced Ruo Yi more that there was a hidden secret…
But Ruo Yi was very measured in her actions; she wouldn’t torment Loli excessively. After tickling for a short while, she sat crossly aside, her golden eyes glancing sideways at the little maid trembling with laughter, as if accusing Loli of betraying their sisterly bond.
“Gasp Elder Sister Ruo Yi, spare me…” Loli gasped for breath, her body limp, and could only surrender, yet she still wouldn’t reveal her secret. She could only look pitifully at Ruo Yi, teardrops clinging to her lashes, presenting a heartrending sight.
“Master, Loli won’t tell, but you surely know. Tell me, and tonight we can do that~” Ruo Yi pointed her spearhead at Xi Wei, who was snickering beside them.
“What ‘that’? Which ‘that’?” Xi Wei looked up at the sky, feigning stupidity.
Meanwhile, Loli was utterly confused, her big watery eyes darting between Xi Wei and Ruo Yi, clueless about the riddle they were weaving.
“That, that refers to…” Ruo Yi bit her lip, glaring fiercely at Xi Wei.
She knew Xi Wei was playing dumb.
Because last time Xi Wei wanted to do ‘that,’ she managed to slip away by acting cute and coy.
Xi Wei ignored the gaze Ruo Yi sent his way.
Outside, the sky was blue, clouds were white, birds flew in flocks, Winter City’s buildings were layered, and in the distance was a lush forest, vaguely revealing a waterfall like a jade ribbon.
“What ‘that’, what ‘this’? You don’t say it, how can I understand what you mean?” Xi Wei turned to look at Ruo Yi.
The fox-eared girl with big eyes lightly bit her red lip, clenched her fists, chest rising and falling, exuding a thoroughly embarrassed aura.
After a while, Ruo Yi took a deep breath.
Her facial expression gradually calmed.
She then walked to the window and plucked a beautiful daisy, its petals sprinkled with morning dew.
“Here.”
She emotionlessly handed the daisy to Xi Wei.
“Now, do you understand what I mean?”
Xi Wei looked at the daisy in his hand, a bit puzzled. He certainly knew what Ruo Yi meant but didn’t expect her to use a flower as a metaphor.
As for Loli, she was even more bewildered.
She did indeed have her little secrets with Xi Wei hidden from Ruo Yi, yet now she felt an unprecedented sense of crisis.
It seemed her Master and Ruo Yi shared an unspoken number of secrets!
“Hmph!”
She looked up and softly glared at Xi Wei. Pouting, she huddled in Xi Wei’s embrace, silent.
