Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 535: Torture
“Slap!”
Barossa’s response was an even louder slap.
(Player Name)’s HP bar flickered slightly.
[HP -1]
He glanced at his palm and found a tooth from Barossa embedded in it.
“Damn it! Spit!”
Barossa spat out the tooth fragments from his mouth, a cruel glint flashing in his eyes.
Immediately, an orange five-pointed star spell array appeared before him. Fire elementals quickly condensed, and a dragon’s head made of flames was about to emerge.
However, a furry large hand reached out from the side, grabbed the half-formed fire dragon, and then pressed it against Barossa’s face.
“Ugggghhhh—!”
The burning pain on his face made Barossa let out a scream. But he quickly realized what level of strength the person who could interrupt his magic with their bare hands possessed. Now that there were no Templar Knights around to help him, he was just a fish at their mercy.
“(Player Name) extended a thumb towards Pet, giving him a thumbs-up. “Thanks for the assist, big bro. If that magic had gone off, it could have caused us significant trouble.”
Pet smiled slightly and retracted his hand, returning the thumbs-up in the same way (Player Name) had. “No problem, no problem. You help me, I help you, we’ll be together forever~”
(Player Name): “Σ(ŎдŎ|||)ノノ!!” *We definitely shouldn’t be together.* If this continues, I’ll almost feel bad about betraying Pet.
“The Eye of Truth won’t spare you!” Barossa stammered, realizing he couldn’t escape and resorting to threats.
“What kind of crap is the Eye of Truth…” (Player Name) drew his greatsword and held it at Barossa’s neck. “Speak! How many more people do you have on Wintery Empire’s lands? Are there any good things hidden in the Hunter’s Winter Hall?!”
Barossa gave (Player Name) a disdainful look, turning his face away with a look of defiance.
“Do you think I’m afraid to kill you!?” (Player Name) roared, gripping Barossa’s collar, but the mage from the South Continent remained unfazed.
Nobody Does Human Things tugged on (Player Name)’s clothes. “You won’t get anything out of him like this. Torture involves the ‘torture’ part; this is just a threat… Let me handle it.”
Nobody Does Human Things handed his long sword to (Player Name) and then turned to respectfully ask Pet, “Brother Pet, can you help me catch a sandworm? I saw a sandworm nest nearby when we arrived. Just one as thick as an adult’s arm will do.”
“No problem.” Pet agreed readily, not asking why Nobody Does Human Things needed a sandworm. Ever since (Player Name) helped him find clues to the Sea God’s Tear, Pet’s impression of these enforcers had been very good. Plus, he’d had a delightful meal of chopped meat with his Orcs half an hour ago, so he was in a good mood.
“You’ll never get any information from me. I’ve received professional training, so just kill me,” Barossa still acted tough, making (Player Name) grit his teeth. Nobody Does Human Things let out a cold laugh and remained silent. Barossa would soon learn what it meant to wish he were dead.
Pet’s efficiency was very high. In less than five minutes, he returned, holding a writhing sandworm that was letting out shrill roars. The sandworm was as thick as an adult’s arm; it looked immature, but its gaping, circular mouth was already filled with needle-like teeth. Not only did Barossa’s scalp tingle, but (Player Name) also felt a prickle down his spine. It was a normal reaction for someone with trypophobia.
Nobody Does Human Things calmly took the sandworm from Pet, skillfully pinching its vital spot, which amazed (Player Name). “(Player Name), do you often catch sandworms for fun? I remember you had a female attendant…”
Nobody Does Human Things: “…”
“I lived with my grandparents when I was little. They often caught snakes to sell, and I learned a bit from them over time.” If he didn’t explain this now, (Player Name)’s overactive imagination would go to some wild places.
“I see,” (Player Name) nodded, a little disappointed.
“Alright, enough nonsense. Help me take off Barossa’s pants.”
Take off his pants?! (Player Name) froze, then his eyes lit up. He chuckled at the stunned and confused Barossa, a mischievous smile forming on his lips. Then, with both hands, he grabbed Barossa’s waist and pulled downwards. With a “rip—,” the leather armor and the robe underneath were torn in half, leaving only a simple piece of cloth around his crotch. This was the underwear of ordinary people on the Cain Continent. The underwear of nobles and wealthy merchants was slightly more elaborate, more complex, and had more patterns. A Bishop like Barossa probably used this kind of common underwear to disguise himself, otherwise, it would be easy to recognize him with something bulging under his backside, especially since he didn’t have the large skirt hoops that women wore.
“You, what are you trying to do!?” Bishop Barossa was starting to sense something was wrong.
“We just want a little bit of information,” Nobody Does Human Things said expressionlessly.
“Take off his last layer of underwear too!” (Player Name) immediately complied. He loved doing such things. After taking it off, he even examined it closely and couldn’t help but make a contemptuous tutting sound. “Is that it? Your wife must be pitiful.”
Nobody Does Human Things’s mouth twitched. He thought the sandworm was a bit too big; he should have caught a newborn… The only problem was new sandworms didn’t have teeth. But he could make do with it.
“Mr. Barossa, I suggest you tell us all the information we want to know. That way, you can die a quick death.” Nobody Does Human Things held the sandworm and gestured towards Barossa’s crotch. What he was about to do was obvious.
“You think… you think this will make me surrender?!” Although trembling all over, Barossa remained stubborn.
“Very good.” Nobody Does Human Things sneered. A few nearby Players who were Priests didn’t fear Barossa dying under the coming torment, so he released his grip on the sandworm’s tail. The sandworm, having been held for a long time, was already furious. Now that it was free, it immediately latched onto the closest flesh. Nobody Does Human Things released the sandworm’s tail. The sandworm spun rapidly around the crotch like an activated top, and the Bishop’s shrill screams echoed through the dungeons.
