Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
Chapter 546: You’re Really Something!
While Xi Wei was still researching divinity.
The Sleeping Land.
The angel Lewenstein was immobilized, unable to move. Judging from the astonishment and fear on his face, he was not in a good state. Five golden chains extended from the void, binding his limbs and head.
Before him stood a woman composed of photons.
Just moments ago, this woman had annihilated the old man of knowledge, Delitoch, and even extracted his divinity. A Mid-level God had fallen before him. Even though the god was in a deep slumber, he shouldn’t have been so defenseless.
“He has been contaminated.”
The woman seemed to sigh, but there was a hint of sarcasm in her tone.
She withdrew her photon-formed hand from Delitoch’s chest, her hand stained with golden divine blood.
Lewenstein noticed that within the golden divine blood, black substances were wriggling, eventually forming an eyeball that glared fiercely at the woman. However, the woman showed no fear and crushed it into powder with a squeeze.
So, the old man of knowledge was indeed contaminated.
Lewenstein found it hard to believe.
“When did this happen?”
“Recently,” the woman said faintly.
A ball of golden flame flew from her hand and landed on Delitoch. The flames quickly intensified, engulfing him completely and burning him to ashes.
“Delitoch’s followers were contaminated first. Then, through his followers, Delitoch saw Truth. He hesitated for a long time, but ultimately could not overcome his greed for knowledge and chose to believe in Truth… He should have woken up long ago.”
“No wonder…”
Lewenstein nodded in understanding.
Many gods were awakening one after another.
But the old man of knowledge hadn’t shown any movement at all. If it weren’t for the fact that he was still breathing, Lewenstein would have thought he was already dead.
Now the mystery was solved.
He was contaminated and then completely “finished.”
“Who are you?”
Lewenstein asked cautiously.
It was certainly possible for someone to instantly kill a Mid-level God, but he had never encountered anyone who could extract divinity before.
If all gods were like commodities, then the supreme gods like the God of Light were the most perfect products. Mid-level gods, Lower-level gods, and even demigods below them had their flaws.
But commodities were still just commodities.
They could not display abilities beyond their nature as commodities.
However, this woman had done just that. She had extracted the old man of knowledge’s divinity and absorbed all of its divinity, leaving only an empty shell.
“You should have seen me before.”
The woman turned her head.
Her entire being was an infinite expanse of light.
From her, Lewenstein felt a grand and warm power, akin to that of his mother. Most importantly, her eyes, golden vertical pupils, shimmered with colorful mist, as breathtaking as diamonds.
She was a dragon, and only the legendary one could reach such a state—Cain’s mother, the creator of all beings in the world, including the gods, the Creator Dragon Ouranos.
But why had the Creator Dragon come here, and why had she specifically killed the old man of knowledge?
“There isn’t much time left.”
Ouranos glanced at Lewenstein.
She lightly brushed her hands in front of her, and a piece of purple crystal gradually condensed on her forehead. Then, she placed the crystal into Lewenstein’s hand.
“I must do my best to maintain the Crystal Wall System of the world and buy time for Cain and the sleeping gods. If, one day, you see the stars fall and the rules collapse, give this purple crystal to Xi Wei.”
With that, before Lewenstein could react, the Creator Dragon Ouranos gradually faded away.
Lewenstein found that the chains on his body had disappeared, and he could move freely again. In his hand was the purple crystal, but it seemed to have a restriction placed upon it, blocking his perception.
He could not read the information within the purple crystal at all.
It was like having a basin of water in front of him, but being unable to recognize it as water.
“The world has truly become more and more complex…” Lewenstein clutched the purple crystal and looked up at the sky. The sky of the Sleeping Land was shattered, as if countless mirror fragments were suspended in the air, each reflecting a different scene. Behind these fragments lay swirling chaotic spaces of pitch black.
These mirror fragments were the shattered Supreme Dome.
Each fragment was another piece of the Sleeping Land or the Divine Kingdom of some god. For instance, the Sleeping Land where he was now was merely one of countless fragments, and only some gods were slumbering here.
Lewenstein’s daily task was to travel between these fragments.
Some fragments were open.
Others were Forbidden to enter.
Occasionally, he would visit the largest fragment and chat with the awake old man of light.
The Goddess of Order was a rigid old woman, as rigid as the Goddess of Life. Unlike other goddesses, they did not wear revealing clothing; their divine garments had collars that reached their chins.
Especially the Goddess of Order, Lewenstein disliked going to that old woman’s fragment. She sat on her divine throne every day, approving contracts. Even when he visited, she would only give him a faint glance and then retrieve all the contracts he had signed previously for re-examination.
“Lewenstein!”
A clear roar interrupted Lewenstein’s thoughts.
He turned and saw that the Moon Angel he had been eagerly awaiting had awakened. She was sitting in a Crystal Coffin, as beautiful as could be, though her expression seemed unhappy.
“Where are my undergarments? Don’t tell me you don’t know where they went!! And please explain why my chest hurts so much!”
The Moon Angel Lana did not seem inclined to listen to Lewenstein’s explanation.
The moment she awoke, her divine power had quickly recovered. She then flew directly to Lewenstein’s Crystal Coffin and, to Lewenstein’s horror, produced a giant holy hammer in her hand.
With a loud “Boom,” the entire small island trembled.
After the smoke and dust cleared, Lewenstein’s Crystal Coffin had been smashed into pieces.
Lana, meanwhile, was gripping a three-piece lace undergarment and lowering her head. The holy hammer in her hand was creaking ominously.
“Lewenstein, you’re really… something!”
Lana sneered.
She first put away her own undergarment, then picked up the others one by one, identifying them.
“This belongs to the Angel of Etiquette, this to the Forest Angel, this to the Spring Angel, these to the Angel sisters, this to Sister Niya, and you didn’t even spare the Goddess of Order… Hahaha, you’re really something, Lewenstein. You sneak into our Crystal Coffins whenever you’re bored, huh?!”
“Well, uh, Lana, listen to my explanation…” Lewenstein wiped a bead of cold sweat from his forehead, forcing an awkward yet polite smile.
But the only answer he received was an increasingly large holy hammer.
“Die!!!”
“Boom—!”
