Chapter 2: New Century (Epilogue)
The Red Dragon was dead.
Xi Wei walked to the side of the giant dragon’s corpse with his sword. Following Bryant’s wish, he directly plunged the King of Conquest Long Sword into the Red Dragon’s corpse. Under the power of plundering, the Red Dragon’s Dragon Soul was extracted and immediately controlled by Bryant, the true sword spirit of the King of Conquest Long Sword.
“Come, Luodrak, take a good look! Look at the humiliation you once brought me!” Bryant held the Red Dragon’s Dragon Soul by the neck and lifted it beside the dragon corpse.
“Crack! Crack!” The Red Dragon watched as the King of Conquest Long Sword was stabbed into its corpse, its eyes devoid of any light. The moment its Dragon Soul was detained by divinity, it knew it couldn’t even find release and could only become Bryant’s slave for eternity. Within that strange sword, Bryant was the master, and it could be molded and shaped as he pleased!
“It’s a shame I no longer have Dragon Kun, or I would have done this myself!” Bryant sighed, lamenting the loss of his Dragon Kun.
“It’s the same with a sword, actually.” Xi Wei poked the Red Dragon’s corpse a few more times, a satisfied smile curving his lips. The feeling was truly good!
“Master, you are right.” Bryant closed his eyes, feeling for a moment, and exclaimed: “I can also feel unprecedented pleasure from the blade!”
“Heh, then you really are a pervert…” Xi Wei drew his long sword with a look of disgust and glanced at the small Green Dragon lying nearby, afraid to move. “And what about her? As your former mate, how do you plan to deal with her?”
Bryant looked down at the trembling small Green Dragon, his expression becoming complex. On the way here, he had indeed said he would kill the small Green Dragon too. But when he actually saw the small Green Dragon, he hesitated, his mind flooded with memories of the time spent with the Green Dragon.
He remembered saving the young Green Dragon from a pack of Fierce-Toothed Lions. It took him a month to help the Green Dragon recover from its injuries. After that, he learned the Green Dragon’s name was Marjdrana, which meant beautiful green jade in the dragon tongue. They lived happily together afterward. During the day, he would go hunting and bring back delicious food, and at night, they would behave shamelessly together. At that time, he had only just become an adult and hadn’t yet established his own Dragon’s Lair. Most dragons would go out and cause trouble after becoming adults, attacking countries or charming princesses, and only consider building their Dragon’s Lair after they had their fill of fun. But he was different. For his love, to meet Marjdrana’s expectations, he gave up the outside world that offered endless pleasures and built a luxurious Dragon’s Lair. It was on that night, accompanied by the spring breeze, that he and the Green Dragon experienced their first intimacy. Bryant felt no guilt; it was a reward he deserved, and Marjdrana had willingly given it.
“Wuwuwu! Master, I still can’t bring myself to kill Marjdrana!” Bryant covered his dragon head. “Perhaps we can give her a chance?”
Marjdrana’s eyes flickered with hope upon hearing Bryant’s words. She thought that Bryant was still good to her. Although Bryant wasn’t very capable, he was very gentle. She also recalled those happy times when she only needed to stay in the Dragon’s Lair, and Bryant would prepare food for her every day.
“Are you really going to let her go?” Xi Wei stroked his chin, his gaze seriously appraising the Green Dragon.
“Yes, Master, although I no longer have Dragon Kun, but…”
There was no “but.” Xi Wei had already swung his sword. With a “swish,” the Green Dragon’s head was severed. The dragon head, along with its dragon blood, rolled to Bryant’s feet. Its dragon eyes still held a longing for life and a look of astonishment at death.
“Master, this…”
“What this?” Xi Wei sneered, plunging the King of Conquest Long Sword into the Green Dragon’s corpse, absorbing its fiercely toxic dragon blood. Even though these giant dragons didn’t possess divinity, their strength was still a great supplement for the King of Conquest Long Sword.
“Slap!” He snapped his fingers, and the Green Dragon’s Dragon Soul appeared in the Dragon’s Lair, bewildered. It looked at its dragon claws and dragon body in astonishment, still finding it hard to believe.
“You are the sword spirit of the King of Conquest Long Sword, and I am the King of Conquest. I have done what the King of Conquest should do, but unfortunately, you haven’t recognized your own position. You don’t deserve the name of this sword. You haven’t learned the ferocity and cruelty of tearing away all flesh and blood in the vicinity the moment you sweep across your enemies’ flesh and blood.” Xi Wei’s voice was cold, like a heavy, frozen hammer striking Bryant’s head.
It stared blankly at the Red Dragon soul it held in its dragon claws and the Green Dragon soul cowering nearby, feeling somewhat lost for a moment.
“Swallow the Red Dragon’s soul,” Xi Wei commanded. Bryant mechanically turned its head and, unable to control itself, bit into the Red Dragon. “Crunch—” That was the sound of souls being torn apart. Bite by bite, it was completely devoured amidst the Dragon Soul’s wails. After finishing, the Green Dragon beside it was thoroughly terrified, shrinking into itself next to its corpse, its jade-green dragon eyes filled with despair and sadness.
“Swallow the Green Dragon too.” Xi Wei commanded again.
“Master, I…”
“Swallow.” Bryant lowered its head, its eyes red, and walked to the Green Dragon’s side, opening its mouth and biting down. Half an hour later, Xi Wei walked out of the Dragon’s Lair and, with a backhand swing, tore the Dragon’s Lair to pieces, everything buried under a vast expanse of yellow sand.
“If you had said you wouldn’t let her go, perhaps I would have let her exist as a Dragon Soul. But you chose indecisiveness… Don’t blame me for being heartless. The reason you were bullied, beaten by the Red Dragon and Green Dragon, and even enslaved by me, is largely related to your personality. I look forward to your growth. When you understand what I mean, I will personally hunt a beautiful giant dragon to accompany you inside the sword.” A spark of electricity flashed on the blade of the King of Conquest Long Sword, and Bryant’s low, confused voice came from within.
“Yes, Master.” Xi Wei sheathed the long sword and tore open space with his bare hands, heading towards Winter City.
…
Inner City of Winter City.
Xin Kui and Xin Zhi were busy in their small shop. This was a mission assigned by their Master, asking them to open a Skill Scroll shop in the Inner City, specializing in providing Skill Scrolls to Players. The mission came too suddenly, and they had been busy from morning until afternoon before they could finally place the scrolls on the special magic shelves. Xin Kui took a moment to look out the window and saw that Players were already lining up outside. They stretched out as far as the eye could see, but there weren’t many Skill Scrolls. If they ran out later, would these Adventurers, called Foreigners, smash their small shop?
