Chapter 34: Let’s Start with a Hundred Laps
The next morning, Xia Mo brought her two juniors to the outskirts of Xinghai City to an abandoned park.
This was the meeting place that Senior Bai Ye had told her about yesterday. After all, training together is different from training alone, and the rooftop of the city center buildings couldn’t accommodate three magical girls.
“Has Senior Bai Ye not arrived yet?” Luo Shuangxing tiptoed and looked around, voicing her confusion.
“Senior said to meet here at ten in the morning; we probably arrived half an hour early,” Xia Mo said with a gentle smile, shaking her head. Senior Bai Ye had always been very punctual, almost excessively so.
She wouldn’t be late or early; she always arrived just on time.
Originally, Xia Mo could have brought Luo Shuangxing and Siam over here just before ten, but her overly energetic juniors insisted on seeing Senior Bai Ye earlier. Xia Mo couldn’t refuse them and had to bring them here in advance.
The outcome was obvious, though; the punctual Senior Bai Ye had yet to show up.
“It’s all your fault, Linglan! We could have rested at the command center for a while!” Siam’s ears drooped, and her tail swayed weakly.
The sun was too strong for her to handle.
Even hiding under the shade of the trees, the scorching air made her feel lethargic.
“I think since we’re here to meet the senior, we should arrive a bit early so she doesn’t have to wait for us,” Luo Shuangxing immediately rebutted, this was also out of precaution.
“Senior Rosemary, don’t you think that’s the case?”
With that, Luo Shuangxing threw the question to Xia Mo, who was lost in thought.
Xia Mo gave a small “ah” and then laughed lightly, neither agreeing nor disagreeing.
She understood Linglan’s perspective; after all, it was their first time meeting Senior Bai Ye, and they didn’t know her habits. After a few more meetings, Linglan would no longer have this thought.
“Alright, you two, stop arguing. The senior likes to arrive exactly on time; let’s just wait patiently.”
“We’re not arguing!”
“Not arguing, meow.”
Both Luo Shuangxing and Siam retorted simultaneously.
“Okay, okay, you’re not arguing. You’re both good kids.”
“Then good kids want a hug from the senior!” Luo Shuangxing spread her arms, wanting to take advantage of the senior.
But halfway through, she was intercepted by Siam, who popped out from the side.
“Bad Linglan, no stealing hugs, meow!”
The two girls got entangled, rolling onto the nearby lawn.
Xia Mo watched the two juniors rolling around on the grass, energetically bonding, and couldn’t help but let out a light laugh.
They were truly full of energy.
When Luo Shuangyue arrived at the abandoned park exactly on time, what she saw was the chaotic scene before her.
Linglan and Siam were wrestling on the grass, while Rosemary stood to the side, wearing a look of satisfaction and contentment, which was quite odd.
The three of them didn’t even notice her arrival, completely immersed in their own world.
With such vigilance, if a bad person had come, they would have been in trouble.
“Have you all played enough?” Clearing her throat, Luo Shuangyue reminded the three girls with a somewhat displeased tone that they weren’t here to mess around.
“Senior!” Xia Mo was the first to react, looking somewhat embarrassed at Luo Shuangyue.
Linglan and Siam quickly stopped their antics, obediently returning to stand in a line with Rosemary.
Is this the legendary Senior Bai Ye? Luo Shuangxing curiously sized up the white-haired girl standing opposite them. For some reason, she felt a warmth from her that made her want to be close.
Especially those golden eyes, which looked just like her mother’s in her memories!
Siam, on the other hand, looked back and forth between Luo Shuangyue and Luo Shuangxing, a hint of suspicion flashing in her amber slit pupils.
She noticed that Linglan and this Senior Bai Ye had some similarities; although their temperaments and outfits differed significantly, the color schemes and hairstyles bore a familiar resemblance.
Bai Ye had a white theme, and Linglan also had a white theme; Bai Ye had white hair and golden eyes, and so did Linglan; Bai Ye had four long twin ponytails, while Linglan had two long and two short braids.
Linglan looked like Bai Ye’s youthful version!
“Your director asked me to give you special training, and I presume you are mentally prepared,” Luo Shuangyue said coldly, scanning the faces of the three magical girls with a frosty gaze. “This training is not something you can just mess around in.”
“Don’t show that distrustful expression. If you don’t believe me, you can ask your Senior Rosemary. She has undergone this training twice already.” Luo Shuangyue laughed softly; it didn’t matter if they didn’t believe her now—soon these little ones would experience the intensity of the special training for themselves.
Now, go run laps obediently!
“Rosemary, you go fly a hundred laps first.”
“Ah, okay.”
After sending Xia Mo off, Luo Shuangyue turned her attention to the remaining two magical girls.
First, she approached Siam, gently pressing her hand on the catgirl magical girl’s shoulder.
“Meow!” Siam’s fur bristled; she felt as though she had been caught in the grasp of an incredibly terrifying beast—was this the fearsome power of Senior Bai Ye?
Legendary magical girl indeed!
“You are not like the other magical girls; hmm… go, run ten laps around Xinghai City. Remember, it’s running, not flying.”
“Got it, meow!”
Siam was sent off, leaving only Linglan.
Luo Shuangyue looked at this last white-haired girl, a slight smirk forming on her lips. Finally, I have you in my grasp, troublesome little one.
“Senior, please don’t look at me like that; I’m scared,” Luo Shuangxing shivered suddenly. Why did she feel like there was a murderous intent hidden in Senior Bai Ye’s gaze?
Furthermore, for some reason, whenever she made eye contact with Bai Ye, she felt her momentum being naturally suppressed, just like when facing her own mom and older brother.
“Don’t be afraid. I’m not a bad person. Just like Rosemary, you’ll do a hundred laps as a warm-up.”
“One… one hundred?!”
