Chapter 42: A Visit
This day was a sleepless night for many people.
Xia Mo couldn’t sleep, Luo Shuangxing couldn’t sleep, and some members of the Evil Organization also couldn’t sleep.
The reason Xia Mo couldn’t sleep was obvious. After her enemy did that to her, it was a miracle if she could sleep at all.
A girl’s feelings are always delicate. She originally thought the Dark Butterfly was just an ordinary enemy, perhaps a bit stronger, with an indescribably strange attitude towards her.

Luo Shuangyue looked at Xia Mo, then at her sister; she could understand that Xia Mo hadn’t slept well, but what was up with Luo Shuangxing?
Didn’t she go back to her room to sleep early last night?
“I don’t know why, but something suddenly made a loud noise in the middle of the night, woke me up, and I couldn’t go back to sleep all night.” Under Luo Shuangyue’s curious gaze, Luo Shuangxing yawned and casually made up an excuse.
There had indeed been a loud noise that woke her up last night; no doubt about it.
Hearing this, Xia Mo’s expression instantly lit up. To her, that noise was definitely caused by her returning home in the middle of the night, which had woken Luo Shuangxing.

Just thinking about having to go to the Magic Department for classes later made her feel like there was no future.

“Okay, okay, let’s hurry and have breakfast.” Seeing the situation, Luo Shuangyue quickly jumped in to rescue Xia Mo.
To be honest, with Xia Mo’s performance, she was lucky that Shuangxing was feeling off, or else her identity as a Magical Girl would probably be completely exposed.
When someone else says they were woken up in the middle of the night and you jump in with an apology, isn’t that just confessing?
If it were Luo Shuangyue, she would definitely chime in, cursing that noisy person along with her sister to clear any suspicion off herself.
You ask me who made the noise? How would I know? It could have been a passing cat, for all I know.
After finishing breakfast, Luo Shuangxing went off alone with her backpack for extra classes, while Xia Mo sat in the living room watching TV.
Luo Shuangyue, on the surface, carried a bag and left for work, but in reality, she went to a nearby inn to change her clothes and make a surprise return.
Xia Mo had told her to use the front door, so she figured this time she would use the front door!
“Last night, the Magic Department destroyed a criminal organization’s hideout and arrested criminal suspects…”

The crisp doorbell drowned out the news report on TV. Just as Xia Mo was about to get up to see who was visiting, she heard the sound of the door opening from the other side.
Was the front door not locked? Xia Mo didn’t think so.
Could it be a thief?
But that didn’t make sense; this was the temporary residence of the Magic Department. Who would come here to steal things?
“Hello~” A white-haired girl pushed the front door open and waved to Xia Mo.

Xia Mo couldn’t help but think, if you don’t have money, how about I buy you a couple of outfits to change into? Wearing the same outfit all day is getting a bit monotonous.
“Don’t worry, I came over only after I saw your two friends leave, so you don’t have to worry about them discovering my presence.” Walking up behind Xia Mo, Luo Shuangyue glanced at the content on the TV and let out a mocking laugh.
“Admiring your masterpiece, are we? Didn’t expect you to be so self-absorbed.”
“I’m not! It just happened to be on this segment.” Xia Mo shook her head immediately. She didn’t usually like watching the news; she was only watching now because she didn’t have time to change the channel after turning on the TV.
She had just sat down to turn on the TV, and the Dark Butterfly had timed her arrival perfectly—there was simply no time to change the channel.
“Oh, I see.”
“So what do you really want? You licked my ear last night, and that wasn’t what we agreed upon.” Xia Mo glared into the Dark Butterfly’s eyes and said seriously, “You know I already have someone I like.”
“I know, it’s Luo Shuangyue, huh? She’s quite a good catch. I don’t know whether to say you’re lucky or he’s lucky.” As a seasoned villain, Luo Shuangyue wasn’t shy about praising herself.
“I’m here this time to remind you, don’t think…”
Before Luo Shuangyue could finish her sentence, there was a rapid knocking at the front door.
Immediately following was Luo Shuangxing’s anxious voice.
“Xia Mo, quickly open the door for me! I left my keys and phone in the bedroom!”
