Chapter 11: Dreams and Requests
I experienced a sleep behavior that hadn’t happened in a long time, and thus, I had a dream after a long absence.
However, being able to think normally as if I were awake implies that I had an extremely rare lucid dream, or perhaps someone had pulled me into their dream. After all, this place felt less like a dream and more like my Sea of Consciousness. The only person who could arbitrarily drag me out of dreams would be ‘her.’
At this moment, I stood in a blank space. A mirror, about twenty centimeters in diameter, floated horizontally before my eyes. Above the mirror, a fist-sized White Sphere drifted. Transparent flames burned around the sphere; this should be Kuuga’s soul.
Above the soul, three Magic Circles covered it like a roof. Between each Magic Circle, some unintelligible text floated – these were the connection points of the Composite Magic Circle.
A Magic Circle with such a spatial structure felt profoundly mystical just by looking at it. Back then, before seeing Nana set up the Magic Circle, I thought that drawing three Magic Circles together would create a mess. It turns out my imagination was too limited.
So, where was the person who pulled me to this place while I was dreaming? Why haven’t they appeared yet?
As soon as this thought surfaced, I heard a sweet voice call out from behind me.
“L-Little Jun Jun~”
Turning around, I saw Nana fluttering her wings as she flew towards me. She folded her wings mid-air and then pounced, hugging me.
“Long time no see~ Did you miss your big sister~ Come and give me a kiss~”
Nana, the instigator who pulled me to this place, embraced me like a pet and nuzzled me.
I rolled my eyes and pushed her away, saying,
“Indeed, it’s been a while.”
Of course, I was referring to Nana in ‘this state.’
Previously, I had met the Principal a few times to report missions directly. However, the Principal outside was a person with no expression and always showed disgust towards me. In stark contrast to that, Nana in dreams was incredibly enthusiastic and unusually close to me.
I kind of understood what was going on. Nana in this state was likely the so-called ‘Succubus instinct.’ I remembered the Principal telling me last time that Adult Succubi, regardless of their personality, would periodically lose control of themselves, and the Principal included herself. It was just that she didn’t know what method she used to completely seal that instinct, only revealing it when dreaming. Because of this, Nana in dreams was like that.
However, since it was a dream, I wasn’t that resistant. I mean, I had done more outrageous things last time, so this level was alright.
“But I didn’t expect Jun Jun, you’d turn into a Zombie. Zombies don’t need to sleep, which is really troublesome. I can’t see Jun Jun at all. This time was also a stroke of luck; I happened to be taking a nap and found a connection to your dream, so I hurried over. You fell asleep because you ate that kind of medicine, right? Who fed it to you? Could it be that Jun Jun was kidnapped?”
“Well, that’s not it. Bing just gave me a small piece of medicine so I could rest well. It should only make me sleep for about two hours.”
“Eh~ Only two hours, what a shame, not enough time~”
“What did you originally plan to do to me?”
“You know~ By the way, Juncheng, you really did turn into a Zombie. Although I already expected you to die there…”
“What? You already knew I was going to die?!”
“Yes~ You were going to die this time because you encountered a ‘killer tribulation,’ and we roughly predicted that you wouldn’t survive this ordeal and would perish.”
“Killer tribulation? What’s that?”
She poked my nose and said with a smile,
“That’s not something you should know about now. Anyway, we knew you were going to die.”
“Please explain it to me! Principal Nana!”
“Mmm~ Oh dear~ You can just call me by my name here~ But calling me Principal isn’t bad either. That tingling sensation is truly irresistible~”
“Calling you Principal in a dream also has an effect?”
“Of course, it does, though it has nothing to do with me. I’m not the one suffering anyway~ Hehehe~ It’s all your fault, Little Jun~”
“It’s my fault?!”
This person is simply unreasonable! It’s true; Nana in dreams is inherently unreasonable.
“Actually, I came here because I wanted to ask you for a favor, Jun Jun.”
“Ask me for a favor? What is it?”
“Last time, I told you about my daughter needing to replace her horns, right?”
“Yes, you did. You also said you might need my help within a week, but you haven’t called me yet. Is there a problem?”
“Ah, how to say it…”
Nana showed a troubled expression, hesitating on how to proceed. I couldn’t say it any other way; this was the first time I’d seen Nana in a dream look troubled. It must be something genuinely difficult to say.
After a moment, she composed herself and said,
“You probably know this, but my daughter truly hates being a Succubus. She even goes to the extent of disfiguring herself, wearing layer upon layer of ‘masks’ and concealing herself completely to live among humans.”
Yes, there was such a thing. I could see that Teacher Lily really hated her identity as a Succubus. I could also understand why she so hated Succubi; anyone with such a constitution would detest themselves. Moreover, Lily was a ‘[Pure-hearted Succubus],’ a personality completely contrary to the Succubus race.
“She also knows that once a Succubus’s horns are replaced, they truly awaken their Succubus instincts. So, she’s been holding back, preventing her horns from falling off.”
“Eh? You can hold that back?”
“It’s like holding in your pee, but the consequences are much more severe.”
“What consequences?”
“Didn’t I tell you before? When Succubi * *, if they can’t get relief in time, they might get a fever and die. Succubi who fail to replace their horns might not burn their brains and die, but it will severely affect their intelligence, regressing them to an infant state.”
“What the heck?!”
In other words, if the horn replacement fails, Teacher Lily will become mentally disabled?!
“Although a Lily like that might be cute, I don’t have the time to take care of her. If you like that sort of thing, you can just leave her be. Hehehe~”
“Who likes that sort of thing! Besides, that’s your daughter! Be serious!”
“Hmph, half of this is your fault, Jun Jun~”
“What does it have to do with me?!”
“It’s just that last time, after she woke up, she felt intense shame and self-blame. At the same time, she became even more disgusted with becoming a true Succubus and developed a strong sense of resistance, so she forcibly held back. She’s been procrastinating until now. I’ve kept telling her, but she just won’t listen.”
Thinking about it, it really might be my fault. If Teacher Lily remembers what she did last time, she must be incredibly embarrassed. It’s imaginable that the thought ‘I’d rather die than become a true Succubus!’ would arise in her mind. Then, the stubborn Teacher Lily, of course, wouldn’t compromise so easily and would continue to endure.
“But we can’t delay any longer. We’ve reached the critical point. If the horns aren’t replaced in about three days, it’ll all be over~”
Nana shrugged her shoulders. On the surface, she seemed unconcerned, but in reality, she was extremely worried about Teacher Lily.
“Why didn’t you come find me sooner?”
“I originally planned to find you tomorrow, but I happened to find you asleep and dreaming this afternoon, so I came to see you. I hope you can persuade her for me.”
She put away her playful expression and earnestly pleaded with me.
“I understand. I will definitely persuade her.”
She must be under a lot of pressure lately. Having such a disobedient daughter must be exhausting.
“Then, two hours should not have passed yet.”
“Hey, hey, what do you want to do?!”
“I mean, Little Jun, you know~”
I had no power to resist, and as a result, I didn’t sleep soundly and felt even more tired.
