Chapter 49 Social Death
The temperature in the cabin is warm.
Many students have given up wearing jackets, only dressed in white shirts.
Natsune and Mana are no exception.
Especially Natsune, feeling a bit hot in the chest, she even wanted to leave the buttons of her shirt undone, but Mana stopped her with all her might.
After helping Natsune tidy up, the two of them left the cabin and came to the hallway.
The hallway of the cruise ship is spacious and bright, with soft beige wallpaper on the walls, radiating a warm glow.
The carpet underfoot is soft and has beautiful embroidery, making it feel like walking on clouds.
As they left the girls’ cabin area, they encountered other students dressed in school uniforms along the way.
“What are your plans for tonight? Are you going to that stargazing event?”
“No, it seems that the third-year seniors are holding a dare event tonight. I plan to join that!”
Two boys in front of Natsune and Mana are enthusiastically discussing their plans for the night.
Their conversation piques Natsune’s curiosity.
“Is there a dare event on the cruise ship too?” Natsune whispers, leaning curiously close to Mana.
“It seems that several groups from the third year applied to use a small cinema on the ship.”
Mana explains to Natsune.
She had just spent some time exploring the third and fourth decks of the cruise ship.
She intended to look for that “suit” man she had seen on the promenade.
Along the way, she passed many students and gathered quite a bit of information.
However, in the end, Mana was unable to see that enigmatic man.
“A dare event watching a movie?” Natsune tilts her head: “Is it a horror movie—”
If they’re using the luxurious audiovisual equipment on the cruise ship to show a horror movie, it indeed would provide an extraordinary experience.
But would a group of boys around the same age feel scared watching a horror movie together?
“It seems they plan to watch Titanic.”
“That’s way too terrifying!”
A real dare event!
Watching Titanic on a luxury cruise ship!
Unparalleled immersion.
Immediately after the movie, they would probably go check if the lifeboats are functioning properly.
Taking the elevator within the cabin.
Natsune and Mana arrive at the lounge on the fourth floor.
In the lounge, large sofas are arranged in several small areas, with deep blue velvet fabric complemented by golden cushions, creating an exceptionally noble appearance.
In the center, there’s a marble coffee table adorned with a delicate vase full of vibrant flowers, and the air is subtly filled with a faint floral scent.
From a distance, they spot Kanade and Ryo in the sofa area.
Next to them is even Yukino’s figure.
“Kanade, it seems the cinema on board is planning to screen a horror movie and a romantic movie tonight. Do you want to take Natsune with you?”
Ryo is recommending tonight’s activities to Kanade.
Students can freely choose whether to participate in the various activities on the cruise.
“A movie?”
“The horror movie seems to be a highly rated supernatural film.”
“Why show such a movie on a luxury cruise? Will anyone really go to see it?” Kanade asks with a puzzled expression, following up:
“What about the other movie?”
“Titanic.”
“Aren’t both movies horror films?!”
“It’s very fitting for a romantic luxury cruise, right?”
“Indeed, it’s too fitting! From the perspective of a horror film!”
“So, do you want to take Natsune to watch it together? Maybe it will move you to tears?”
“Isn’t it tears of fear instead?”
“Let Natsune feel your heart, which is as passionate as a movie protagonist.”
“Isn’t it a cold heart!? Didn’t he eventually sink into the extremely cold sea?”
“What a tragic love story; it’s simply a happy ending, the male lead’s love for the female lead lasted until the very last moment~”
“Because that was an incredibly short life!”
At this point, Yukino interjects in their conversation, seemingly against the movie.
“Since we’re on a luxury cruise, we should naturally experience something that’s rare in daily life!”
Yukino pulls out a small guide booklet for the cruise and flips to a page.
“The nighttime outdoor pool party!”
“Oh! That seems pretty good too!” Ryo responds; this kind of event is indeed hard to come by.
“Sounds completely like a party for the popular crowd.” A bunch of boys in swimsuits partying by the pool on the deck? As a wallflower, Kanade shivers just imagining it.
“Tonight, let my big brother see my curvy sexy body~” Yukino says while twisting her waist and posing in a way that looks quite affected.
“Isn’t it flat?” Kanade retorts immediately.
“Though big brother can’t see it, my chest isn’t small at all…”
“Is that so!? Then what’s Yukino’s size—” Ryo cooperates with the topic.
“…It’s a D cup.” Yukino tilts her head and whistles as she answers.
“I can’t see it at all!” Kanade comments.
“I’m the kind of person who looks slim in clothes!”
“Is it just a matter of this degree?!”
“By the way, when I take it off, my height increases to 1.7 meters, and I’ll be a long-legged, big-breasted beauty~”
“Are you talking about shedding your skin? What kind of monster is hidden under my sister’s guise!?”
“Please imagine that on your own, big brother.”
“I can’t imagine it at all!” Kanade retorts:
“After all, how could a middle schooler have such a voluptuous—”
At that moment, Kanade notices Natsune and Mana walking towards them.
Natsune’s ample, mature curves, which don’t match her age, were unveiled by the absence of her uniform jacket. Coupled with her slender waist, they looked even more full and visually striking.
The towering peaks of her chest rise and fall with her breath, stretching the fabric of her shirt tightly, forming several alluring folds.
Was it because she noticed Kanade’s gaze?
Natsune changed from a leisurely stroll to a quick jog, rapidly approaching Kanade.
And those noticeable features of hers create captivating waves as she moves, changing into enticing postures, as if showcasing her soft and bouncy texture.
“…Isn’t there a representative figure here?” Yukino glances sideways at Kanade.
“I apologize for my earlier inappropriate remarks.”
Kanade apologizes while covering his nose with his hand.
When Natsune approaches, seeing Kanade tilting his head for some reason, she anxiously asks, “Kanade, is something wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”
“No, it’s nothing. Kanade just got a bit too much sun earlier and is slightly overheated.” Ryo laughs, smoothing things over.
And Kanade feels relieved that Natsune has common sense now, understanding personal space between genders.
If she were to suddenly hug him like before…
Kanade felt that he would experience social death on the spot.
“By the way, Natsune, we just mentioned watching a romantic movie or attending the outdoor pool party tonight. It seems Kanade doesn’t want to see the movie—”
“—No, I suddenly think watching the movie isn’t bad.” Kanade hurriedly interrupts Ryo.
At least it’s better than the pool party.
Just thinking about Natsune in her swimwear…
Kanade involuntarily bent down slightly. This wasn’t intentional; it was purely instinctive behavior.
“Are you suggesting watching… Titanic?”
“Natsune knows about that too?”
“…..I choose to go to the outdoor pool.”
Kanade suddenly realizes that today might be his death day.
In comparison, sinking into the icy sea is simply a happy ending.
