Chapter 19: What If My Sister Discovers My Hidden Nature

Nagi followed Amane’s footsteps quietly back to her room from the balcony.
“Um, Amane, you wouldn’t just stare like this, right…?”
Just as Nagi was about to take off her shrine maiden outfit, she noticed Amane’s gaze.
“Don’t worry, brother,” Amane shook her head and replied earnestly, “I don’t have a habit of peeking at girls changing clothes.”
“Why does it sound like you enjoy peeking at boys changing clothes instead!?”
“Well… brother…” Amane let out a sigh.
“Do you think that’s what I am in your eyes?”
“For someone who just hid on the balcony and eavesdropped this afternoon, that statement is utterly unconvincing,” Nagi responded immediately.
“…This room is quite nice~”
“Hey, hey? Why did you suddenly change the subject?”
Nagi temporarily pushed Amane to the balcony and drew the curtains, changing back into her Ark Academy uniform.
The usual combination of a white shirt and a pleated skirt, although the design was no different from most female high school uniforms, the material used was noticeably better than standard school uniforms.
Perhaps the school considered that students at Ark Academy would encounter fantasy creatures or their supernatural powers, so special fabrics with some degree of magical resistance were used for each student’s uniform; although minor, it was better than nothing.
However, this outfit that looked utterly ordinary from any angle transformed into a somewhat suggestive uniform play when worn by Nagi.
Seeing this, Amane quickly grabbed Nagi, who was about to head out with her.
Strictly speaking, Nagi’s outfit wasn’t quite at the level of a seductive uniform, but it wasn’t far from being seen as “improper.”
“Um, brother, may I ask why you’re wearing such stockings…?” Amane decided to first question one of the culprits behind this suggestive outfit.
In her two-plus years living at Ark Academy, Amane had seen quite a few girls wearing stockings, so that wasn’t particularly special.
But very few, if any, looked as good as this black-haired beauty in semi-transparent stockings.
The moment Nagi heard this, her heart skipped a beat.
“Actually, it’s because this can tease innocent little boys… something like that.” Nagi would never dare to say this to her sister.
So, she could only feign innocence and ask back, “But I see other girls wearing them like this…”
“Brother… could you not take the heroine from the adult comics as your role model?” Amane shot Nagi a look.
“Ha, ha? How could I possibly…?” Nagi averted her gaze, feeling guilty, “Instead, how come you seem to be quite familiar with this…?”
“Because I’ve seen quite a few.”
“Eh?!” Nagi thought Amane would defend herself, but she unexpectedly admitted so outright.
Well, for a high school student of this age, enjoying some adult comics really wasn’t something to be ashamed of—

“My sister is actually a perverted stalker?!”
“How rude, this is academic research.” Amane’s graceful and beautiful face showed no shame whatsoever.
“By the way, the adult comics Senpai Tsuki reads all feature childhood friendship themes, and the heroines are all black long-haired busty beauties…”
“…” Once a boy, Nagi felt a wave of empathetic shame and mourned for Kanade in silence for a few seconds.

—Could it be she was about to be seen through by her own sister!?
—She had been distorting Kanade’s preferences all her life…
“The truth is—brother, you and Senpai Tsuki are actually reading similar childhood friends-themed comics, right?”

Under Amane’s reprimand, Nagi seemed to shrink further, as if she would curl up into a ball in the corner of the room at any moment.

There were indeed quite a few outfits inside that should never be seen by peers, even family.
These were outfits Nagi originally planned to wear in front of Kanade after their reunion to stimulate him.
For instance, some uniforms themed around various animals.
“After all, as a boy… I somewhat hope to see a beautiful girl dressed in such clothes, right!? Even if it’s me wearing it, at least I can feast my eyes!?”
Nagi believed that if Amane were the kind of sensible child she was, she would be able to understand what was in her wardrobe.
But the price was that she might never be able to hold her head high in front of her sister again.
