We live at the foothills of Dragon Peak.

The strongest title.

Raiula, angered, might reveal her terrifying true form. But there was no need to worry about that.

Pushing aside the piled-up Chicken Dragons, Raiula emerged with an unfazed expression, offering me a bitter smile and saying, “This is troublesome.”

The Chicken Dragons did not seem to believe that they had defeated the terrifyingly ominous Raiula with their current attack alone. They were not surprised by Raiula’s calm demeanor.

However, knowing that Raiula, a demon, was on our side, they demanded that I explain the situation to them.

The residents were left behind.

They didn’t know Raiula or the Chicken Dragons’ true identities, and without the Dragon Hearts, they couldn’t understand what the Chicken Dragons were saying.

From their perspective, it just looked like Raiula had defeated the undead, and then a large chicken attacked.

Ares-chan had blocked Raiula’s killing intent, so the general public should not have noticed the terrifying aura from earlier.

And I must have appeared to be in a panic, surrounded by the chickens that had attacked Raiula.

I had to explain to the Chicken Dragons, Raiula, and the residents, and I also needed to evacuate them quickly.

It felt like a mountain of problems was piled up in front of me, making me dizzy. But if I didn’t deal with them one by one, nothing would progress.

First, to the residents.

“Everyone, these individuals are not chickens. They are proud members of the Dragon Race. See? The part of their crest is like a horn? And they have come to help the Human Race. So, if you treat them roughly, you’ll be in trouble.”

As I was speaking, an adult who tried to grab the Chicken Dragons swarming me was stabbed by a sharp beak and cried out in pain.

The people were surprised by my explanation.

“And to everyone, thank you for coming to support us!”
“What is this? It is the wish of a boy from the potato fields. We will rush anywhere for you.”
“Thank you.”

The people were even more surprised when I used the Chicken Dragons and Dragon Hearts to communicate.
Or rather, they were surprised to see the dragon folk in the form of chickens listening to my words.

“Raiula, thank you too!”
“Stop it. Your thanks will cost me my soul…”
“Thank you!”
“Grit!”

My gratitude was genuine. Also, I was saved because she dealt with the Chicken Dragons’ misunderstanding with such magnanimity.

“Elnea. It’s not time for you to be casually joking around.”

At the指摘 by the male Chicken Dragon, Raiula interrupted her soul-shaving work.

“That’s right. You all came from the west, didn’t you? What’s the situation?”

Can Chicken Dragons fly?
Seeing them rush across the ground, it seemed they couldn’t fly. That means they came over the West Fortress, right?

“Yes. We came in a hurry at the request of the Princess of Dragons.”
“The West Fortress has fallen. a Beast Demon General has appeared.”

A complex mix of understanding, “So that’s how it is,” and desperation, “Finally, it’s appeared,” welled up in my chest.

“You should head west.”
“But, the residents…”
“We can protect this number of people.”

The defensive power of the Chicken Dragons was overwhelming. So, there was no reason to refuse their offer.
However, no matter how much I trusted the Chicken Dragons, it was no use if the residents being protected doubted their race and abilities.

Just like Slaton and Duranel, understanding and cooperation are necessary to join hands.

I had to convince the residents.
But how could I persuade them?

“Piyo piyo.”

“Wow, so cute.”

The children among the evacuees found the clue to the solution.
Not chicks, but baby Chicken Dragons. As they saw them, the children who had been crying and cowering were smiling again.

“Everyone, please listen. Raiula and I have to go to the West Fortress now.”

To the voices of danger, I smiled confidently and said, “It’s alright.”

“You all head to the Great Shrine. These Dragon folk will be your guards.”
“These chickens?”
“Guaaah. Don’t lump me in with chickens!”

The Chicken Dragon’s head glared sharply at the man, making his face twitch.

“Please believe in me and the Dragon Race. You want to protect your children, don’t you? You want to protect the ones you love, don’t you?”

Children are amazing.
Parents can do anything for their children. Even if they are suspicious and can’t keep up with the surroundings, they can clearly set their goals when it comes to their children.

“Raiula and I cannot go with you. If we don’t go to the West Fortress, more demons will attack than before.”
“More demons than this…”
“What in the world is happening…”

The people were speechless at my words.

“So, please go to the Great Shrine with the Dragon Race. They are great Dragon folk, far more reliable than us.”

It was the priest who nodded at my smile, free from any doubt.

“If you say so, I trust you. You saved us, and if you trust them so completely, we should too.”
“Thank you.”

When trying to persuade or encourage someone, if you look anxious or speak without confidence, it won’t convey.
My smile, shown on the desperate battlefield, seemed to have reached the priest’s heart.
And when the priest trusted me, the residents were also convinced.

“If you say so.”
“We’ll trust the chickens too.”
“Guaaah. Not chickens!”
“Hahaha, everyone. They are not chickens. They are Dragon folk.”
“Is that so… Dragon folk?”
“I never knew there were dragons like these.”

The adults looked at the Chicken Dragons with interest.
The children, no longer concerned with whether they were chickens or Chicken Dragons, were smiling at the chicks that had run alongside them.

“Now, hurry. Although these people were rude, we will protect you to save your face.”
“Thank you.”

No matter how many times I thanked them, it was not enough.
If the Chicken Dragons hadn’t rushed over, I would still be worrying.
I’m also grateful to Laira for sending the Chicken Dragons this way.

The priest stood up, holding the unconscious miko. The residents followed suit.
The Chicken Dragons spread out, surrounding the residents, and formed a powerful barrier.

Even if demons appeared, it would be difficult to break the Chicken Dragons’ barrier.

“Go, Dragon King!”
“Yes. I’m off!”

The Chicken Dragons led the residents away, and I took Raiula’s hand, and we ran towards our respective destinations.

“Interesting Dragon folk. I want a Dragon Heart too.”
“No, no, you can’t have a Dragon Heart.”
“That’s not true. If you work hard, you definitely will. Elnea, teacher. That’s my reward for this time!”
“Absolutely refuse!”

Besides, one cannot acquire a Dragon Heart without being able to wield Dragon Energy.
There’s also the art of telepathic communication… but I can’t teach it. So, I’ll tell Raiula to honestly give up.

“You tried hard earlier, didn’t you?”
“Thank you!”
“You’re definitely enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Yeah!”

After parting with the Chicken Dragons, Raiula and I headed west at full speed. Releasing Raiula’s hand, I used Spatial Jump repeatedly. Raiula shouldn’t be able to use Spatial Jump, but she didn’t fall behind me as I moved at high speed.
Every time my vision changed, Raiula was always beside me.

This demon is truly amazing.
I’m so glad she’s not an enemy.

As I continued westward, letting out a sigh of relief, demons that were not undead surged towards me from the front.

“It’s the demon army under Nelitz’s command.”
“They’ve already infiltrated this far.”

There’s no time to be careless.
The demons that appeared from the front seemed to be more numerous than the undead rampaging through the capital city.

The undead are being held back somewhat by Lily and the others in the south. So, they are not increasing explosively, but demons are pouring in one after another from the breached West Fortress.

Laila and Revalia should have gone ahead, but they clearly lacked the “numbers” as a fighting force.

I drew my White Sword and Spirit Tree Wooden Sword. Then, while slashing at the demons, I moved west, west, and further west.
I couldn’t deal with all of them.
The invading demons in the capital city must be left to the Wyvern Knight Order. we must head to the West Fortress and face the Beast Demon General Nelitz!

I kicked away demons while using Spatial Jump to advance.
Before long, the collapsed fortress came into view ahead.

The West Fortress, already reduced to rubble. On top of the rubble, a demon with a giant, bear-like figure was roaring.

“It’s the Beast Demon General Nelitz.”
“Yeah.”

A giant bear, but with two heads and bat-like wings on its back. Its all-black appearance was more unsettling and demonic than bestial.

I could tell it was the Beast Demon General Nelitz at first glance.
It let out a deep roar and summoned clone-like bear figures behind it.
According to Raiula, it can summon them from its tail.

The summoned black bears rampaged around, destroying the fortress.
The subordinate demons continued to invade the capital city, climbing over the broken fortress.

Nelitz, commanding from atop the crumbling fortress, was conspicuous. However, Revalia and Laila who went ahead could not get close to Nelitz.

Further west of the fortress, magic was being unleashed from the sky like rain, preventing Revalia from approaching. That would be fine, but the magic, after cutting through the air, drew an arc and fell to the ground, destroying the fortress and its surroundings.

Revalia, in the sky, was roaring in frustration.

There were no soldiers defending the crumbling fortress.
Had they fled, or were they annihilated?
Given the situation, I’d rather they had fled. I didn’t want to think they were annihilated.

Aimed at Nelitz, I dashed through the rain of magic.
Nelitz, sensing my approach keenly, turned one of its heads towards me.

Its ferocious eyes met mine. I glared back at Nelitz with a sharp gaze.
Nelitz’s thick, sharp claws glinted.

Suddenly.
A monster descended from the sky, undeterred by the rain of magic.

It had oddly bent wings. A thick, ferocious tail. Its head was shaved, with sharp scales all over its body that seemed capable of inflicting wounds on contact. However, its shaved head was adorned with tattoos, like scales.

A monstrous body comparable to the giant Nelitz.
A terrifying killing intent emanated from it.

A new enemy!
I immediately got into guard.
There were two opponents. Raiula was with me, but it was uncertain if she would cooperate.

However, before us, the giant monster grappled with the Beast Demon General Nelitz. Entwining their arms, both leaned forward, bringing their faces close.

“Yo. Damn demon.”

The monster glared at the twin-headed bear with a ferocious smile.
Nelitz glared back at the monster before him, and let out a low growl.

“Do you know me?”
“Who are you?”

Nelitz frowned at the monster’s question.

“I see. You don’t know me? But I know you. If you don’t know me, then I’ll take revenge for the Milly clan as I see fit.”

The monster’s presence swelled.
A fierce Dragon Energy, like an earthquake, emanated from the monster. The vision shimmered like a mirage due to the overwhelmingly dense Dragon Energy.
The monster unleashed a fierce aura that could kill with just its killing intent, similar to what Raiula had felt earlier.

Nelitz, sensing that its opponent was no ordinary being, also roared and unleashed its magic power.

Fierce Dragon Energy and vicious magic collided.

“Before you die, remember this. I am Id. The strongest Dragon King.”

Quietly, Dragon King Id whispered.

Contrary to the words that seemed to evoke silence, the enraged Dragon Energy gave Nelitz a death sentence.

Id crushed the arms of Nelitz, who was locked with him, with his grip.
One of the bear’s faces screamed in agony, while the other was crushed by Id’s headbutt.

“This is the hatred of the Milly clan, whom you destroyed. Savor your hatred to the fullest!!”

Id roared!
Along with Id’s enraged cry, Nelitz’s scream echoed.
To everyone’s surprise, Id proceeded to rip Nelitz in half from left to right.
Then, he stomped on the intact half of the crushed head. He placed his free hand on the remaining head, which was shrieking, and crushed it.

It was overwhelming destructive power.

Id, who had unilaterally slaughtered Nelitz, who held the position of Demon General, roared again towards Dragon Peak, covered in the enemy’s blood.

The exact bond between Id and Milly-chan is unknown, but his final roar was not one of rage, but rather one of accomplishment.
