We live at the foot of Dragon Peak.
The Fate of the Young Dragon
“Well then, shall we go see Ruilala right away?”
“No, I won’t. I’ll have Ruilala try a little harder.”
“You have to thank me later, you know?”
“Is that my job?”
“Naturally.”
Thanks to the Giant Demon Lord’s unnecessary remark, it seems like we’ll have to go back to the eastern border immediately after returning.
Mistral has also completely dumped the matter of Ruilala on me. If it continues like this, it’s dangerous.
“That’s right. There’s one more thing that’s been bothering me.”
“Hmm. You’re trying to change the subject, aren’t you?”
“Grandpa, please don’t read my mind… Anyway. When I met Yugra, Fiorina and Rim and their three attendants weren’t there. I wonder where they are? Revalia is also concerned, isn’t she?”
“I am concerned, but as your grandfather. I’m sure they are in a safe place. More importantly, can we just leave that demon alone?”
“I have a feeling that leaving them alone is the best option. But I’m still worried about Fiorina and Rim!”
Yugra and Friel must have rushed to the Yorttenitos Kingdom to quickly inform them of the disturbance in the Dragon Forest. However, since the young dragons, Fiorina and Rim, would find a forced march physically demanding, their three attendants should be taking care of them and staying behind.
But I wonder where they are?
As I was thinking about it, Sleigsta (Old Man) looked up at the sky.
Sleigsta’s gaze seemed to be directed beyond the branches and leaves of the Spirit Tree that covered the Moss Garden.
“Hmm. Clear your mind.”
At his words, we turned our consciousness to the sky, clearing away any stray thoughts.
“You old fool. You stupid old man. You ridiculous old man!”
Oh, what a waste of abilities.
As we all burst into laughter, we could feel Fiorina’s mental screams spreading like ripples in the sky.
“They’ve probably been taken back to the settlement. Although we need to clear our minds, being able to send our thoughts this far is proof of their excellence.”
Regardless of the content, Fiorina’s ability as a leader seems to be something that even Sleigsta (Old Man) respects.
Glad to hear it.
“W-Well then, perhaps I should go and see them? Revalia must want to see Rim, too.”
“Don’t use me as an excuse.”
“Alright, let’s go. Let’s go right now! Revalia, carry me.”
I made the decision unilaterally and climbed onto Revalia’s back.
“Um, Priscilla is going to play too.”
“I can’t get over the mountains around the settlement without Nyanko.”
“That’s right. Those mountains were taller than the clouds, weren’t they?”
“Are you looking down on me?”
“No, I’m not. But Revalia can’t fly higher than the clouds, so it can’t be helped.”
“Elnea, you’re running away.”
“Mistral, what are you talking about? I’m worried about Fiorina and Rim.”
“Elnea-kun, you mustn’t turn a blind eye to reality.”
“Ruiseine, I am always facing reality. Right now, my judgment is that confirming the safety of Fiorina and Rim is the most important thing.”
“Elnea-kun, have you forgotten about the capital city?”
“Elnea-kun, have you forgotten about the King?”
“I understand what Yufi and Nina are saying, but first, the children…”
“Elnea (Male), I alone will accompany you. Come, let’s go towards them, just the two of us.”
“Kuh, are you forcing me?”
As expected of Lyra, who is skilled at making a swift getaway. She jumped onto Revalia and took off, as if fleeing.
Oh my, Lyra, what a waste of abilities.
“Hey! Lyra!”
“Elnea-kun, wait for me!”
Everyone in the Moss Garden shouts as they grow distant.
Revalia flapped her wings fiercely and flew towards the tips of Spirit Tree branches.
“Priscilla is going too!”
“Let’s escape!”
Only Priscilla-chan and Nimia caught up using Spatial Jump.
Seeing Priscilla-chan appear on my chest with a pop, and Nimia perched on my head, Lyra’s shoulders slumped slightly.
Just how much did you want to get ahead…
“You’re too soft.”
“We won’t let you escape.”
From the receding Moss Garden, the women who had fallen behind began to move swiftly. They jumped onto Lilly and chased after us, shouting!
“Lady Revalia, please escape.”
“Hey, you guys!”
Revalia let out a roar and accelerated.
This isn’t Lyra’s command… is it?
Revalia, using the Spirit Tree’s branches as cover, fled. Dodging thick branches and lush leaves that swiftly approached, she flew as if to vanish from the sight of the swiftly pursuing Lilly. And then, she headed towards the end of the Spirit Tree.
Once we pass the Spirit Tree, we’ll be outside Sleigsta (Old Man)’s barrier and can head towards Dragon Peak.
“Fufufu. We won’t let you escape. Lilly-chan, it’s this way. I can see the remnants of Dragon Energy.”
Ruiseine, you too!
When a Wyvern flies and accelerates in an impossible manner, it is always using Dragon Arts. Ruiseine, with her Dragon Eye, caught the remnants of Dragon Energy used by Revalia and pursued her accurately.
“Waaah, let’s run!”
“It’s a game of tag, nya!”
Priscilla-chan and Nimia were enjoying this situation. They were cheering merrily on Revalia’s back.
However, Lyra and I are desperate. If we get caught, something terrible will surely await us.
Revalia, run!
“You guys, you’ll regret this later…”
Grumbling like that, Revalia genuinely fled. No matter the situation, Revalia’s pride wouldn’t allow her to be caught by a mere young dragon like Lilly.
Accelerating further and further, she emerged from the tips of the Spirit Tree’s branches. In an instant, the surrounding scenery changed, and the tips of the Spirit Tree branches that had just passed were gone from view. And then, the rugged mountains of Dragon Peak spread out in the western sky.
Revalia flapped her four large and small wings fiercely and flew towards Dragon Peak.
From behind us, Lilly appeared.
“Waittt.”
Lilly was also playing.
Now that she could no longer hide among the Spirit Tree’s branches, Revalia was easily spotted. Lilly, having locked onto her target, accelerated rapidly.
Revalia flees, Lilly pursues. Two dragons invade Dragon Peak at high speed.
They passed through deep valleys and rapidly ascended sheer cliffs. They weaved through trees that had shed their leaves and flew over peaks.
Rapid ascent, rapid descent, sharp turns. Accelerating and decelerating sharply. A high-level aerial game of tag continued.
Lilly was faster, but Revalia’s subtle flying techniques were overwhelmingly superior, making it quite a match.
While evading and escaping, Revalia aimed for the village of Carnela, her destination.
The eyes of the wild Wyverns they overtook in the sky became mere dots. On the ground, Earth Dragons were clamoring in confusion.
Magic Beasts fled. Dragon Race people fled and hid. Such scenes streamed by at high speed, and before long, mountains piercing the clouds began to appear ahead.
“You can’t escape any further!”
Lilly approached from behind.
To reach the nest of the golden-scaled Wyverns where Fiorina and Rim were waiting, we had to cross the mountain before us. However, Revalia did not have the ability to fly above the clouds.
All is lost!
Revalia continued to flee, avoiding the mountain, but Lilly gradually cornered her.
“Leave this to Nyanko, nya!”
A savior appeared.
Nimia, who had been relaxing on Priscilla-chan’s head, soared into the sky and grew giant. Then, she grabbed Revalia and ascended rapidly.
“Kuh, let go!”
Ah, I was wrong. Not a savior.
Carried by Nimia over the clouds and mountains, Revalia glared resentfully at the scenery below.
“Revalia, you need to learn to fly above the clouds too, right?”
“Silence.”
“But didn’t you fly up in the sky during the first disturbance in Yorttenitos Kingdom?”
“Hmph, that was the old man’s doing. It was an immature technique with short flight time and not much altitude.”
“But Revalia, you can’t even do that, so you shouldn’t speak ill of it.”
“You’re one to talk, always escaping reality!”
“Um, Priscilla will help. Let’s practice flying together.”
“You’re the worst to have on board. Leave the playing to Rim and the old man’s granddaughter alone.”
“No, no.”
“Nyanko will play too, nya!”
“That’s unfair. Please include me too.”
“No, no, Lyra, you can’t play either. Besides, this is training. It’s not playing, okay?”
“No one said anything about training.”
“Then, will you always be carried by Nimia like this?”
“Kuh…”
“Nyanko will carry you anytime, nya!”
Nimia, flying gracefully through the sky, soared far above the clouds and crossed the mountain range.
Lilly followed behind, but there was no sign of her catching up. Nimia had the best flight speed among them.
The flight above the clouds was short, and Nimia and Lilly gradually descended.
Below them was a forest where many great trees stood in a dense growth.
It was the settlement where Carnela and the others lived.
Lilly, visiting for the first time, followed behind Nimia, looking around curiously.
The Dragon Race people in the settlement seemed to have noticed us, as they emerged from their dwellings built on the branches of the great trees and began to gather in the plaza in front of the cliff.
“Hey, let go already!”
Revalia, still being held by Nimia, thrashed about. Then, she forcefully broke free from Nimia’s grasp and landed in the plaza with a fierce flap of wings.
Nimia landed after Revalia and shrunk down, returning to Priscilla-chan’s head.
A moment later, Lilly landed softly.
“I won’t let you escape anymore.”
“It’s punishment.”
“Lyra-san, you better be prepared.”
“Lyra, you know what’s coming, right?”
“Hawawa. Elnea (Male), please save me!”
Before I could shield her, Lyra was dragged away by the women.
Lyra, I hope you’ll be alright…
And soon, danger will approach me as well…
“Dragon King, welcome.”
“H-Hello, Carnela-sama. I’m sorry for visiting so suddenly.”
“No, it’s quite alright. We expected you to come eventually. Look, Lady Fiorina, you see?”
Saying that, Carnela pointed to the sky.
Even without consciously trying, I could clearly sense it.
“I hate Grandpa! You stupid old fool! You blithering idiot!”
The people who could read Fiorina’s wave-like intentions exchanged wry smiles.
“Now, please go meet them quickly.”
“Yes. I’ll be going then.”
This is a racket. Fiorina’s intentions, due to her ability as a leader, spread widely across Dragon Peak. For those of the Dragon Race or those with Dragon Hearts, it entered their minds directly as if it were words, without them even trying.
The Dragon Race people with Dragon Hearts were growing weary of the incessant stream of Fiorina’s complaints.
And it wasn’t just the Dragon Race people who were slumped in exhaustion, troubled by Fiorina’s moaning.
Upon reaching the Wyvern’s nest, the golden-scaled Wyverns looked exasperated and exhausted.
This is serious. Yugra must have brought Fiorina and Rim here, prioritizing their safety, but those around them are having a terrible time.
“Fiorina, Rim. I’ve come to pick you up.”
Holding Priscilla-chan’s hand, I couldn’t afford to walk leisurely to the nest after witnessing the exasperated state of the Wyverns as I passed through the cliff path.
I thought my intentions would reach them even if my voice couldn’t, and turned my consciousness towards the Wyvern’s nest.
Immediately, the complaining intentions spreading across the sky vanished. And two small shadows soared from between the giant Wyverns.
“Uwaaah, I missed you!”
“Is Revalia here too?”
I immediately recognized them as Fiorina and Rim.
The two flew straight towards us and nuzzled against Priscilla-chan and me.
“I’m sorry. I came to pick you up.”
“We’re so happy!”
“You finally came!”
Fiorina and Rim, rubbing their heads against me and being affectionate, were a pain in the horns, but I endured it, letting them indulge in their affection.
The Wyverns, upon seeing me, let out a sigh of relief.
