Sharin was exhausted from Aurion’s persistent advances.
Aurion and Sharin were nowhere to be seen. Instead, a different man’s voice could be heard.
“Hey, at least tell me your name. You have a cute tsundere face though.”
Give me a break. Now it’s this guy. It’s the man called Tonitol, who suddenly appeared and was bothering Veronica. Veronica had the same look on her face as Sharin, staring into the void. Why do people push so hard without considering the other person’s feelings? They look clearly disgusted.
I thought I needed to step in again, but that’s when Karubene arrived.
“Hey, stop bothering my sister. You’re causing trouble.”
“Huh? Who are you?”
Oh, she seems to have her own attached attendant. Good, looks like I’m not needed.
“There’s no way a guy like you, who we just met yesterday and don’t even know where you came from, can be my sister’s lover.”
“I don’t know who you are, but I’ve fallen in love with her. I can’t help but confess my feelings.”
I felt like asking him specifically what he liked about her to fall in love. Or is this how Keraino works? Do they keep pestering women until they give in?
“Hey, Sister, you dislike him, right?”
“You don’t know anything about me yet, do you? At least listen to me.”
Veronica exhaled smoke wearily and finally started talking.
“Look, I’m twenty-seven, or almost thirty. You’re seventeen or eighteen, right? We’re ten years apart, so give up and find a younger woman.”
“What, thirty?! But love doesn’t have an age limit. Ten years is nothing. I don’t care what kind of man you’ve dated in the past. Just look at me, right here, right now.”
Veronica covered her face with her hand, as if she couldn’t do anything more. She wasn’t the type to talk much to begin with. Like Sharin, she got tired quickly and fell silent. It was surprising that these two, who were excellent in battle, had such an unexpected weakness.
“I don’t have a man and I don’t need one… Go away.”
“See, my sister agrees. Go away. I don’t need a guy who smells of masculinity. I’m enough, smelling of sake.”
“Huh? Then, are you really alone right now?! What?!”
Seeing Tonitol blush, Karubene started to draw his dagger, so I quickly intervened. “This is how it always ends.”
“Stop, Karubene, put your sword away. And you, quit it. Don’t you realize she dislikes you?”
“Then I won’t give up even more! Be my lover! I’ll hunt a deer for my sister.”
With that, Tonitol flew off somewhere. I hope he never catches a deer in his life.
“Brother, can you do something about him? What’s wrong with this island’s people, with that brat and him?”
“No, I think it’s just those two. For now, carry our luggage. Let’s head back to the inn.”
I returned to the inn with Veronica, who was smoking a cigarette. She might get bothered again if she stayed alone.
“Everyone, I’m back. Look, I brought a lot.”
Piyo ran over, curious. A good smell wafted from the kitchen. Pauline must be making dinner. A fleeting moment of peace; I don’t know when we’ll be able to enjoy a meal like this again.
Incidentally, Blitz is also still staying because she’s hospitalized. Perhaps bored with nothing to do, he’s occupying the sofa, sprawled out in a relaxed manner. Elana, whose place to relax has been taken, looks very displeased.
“Why am I on the floor?”
“Now, now, let’s just eat.”
And then there’s Jagged Rock, who has nowhere to go. He’s still here, but what does he plan to do after we leave? He’s been gnawing on a bone he got yesterday. He doesn’t seem to get along badly with Keraino, so maybe he can live in the same territory?
Just then, Cecilia returned.
“Welcome back. Pauline just made dinner, oh.”
She walked past with a grumpy expression. Did something bad happen? I opened the closing door and Lorenz appeared. Ugh, is it his fault?
“Hmph, sour grapes? You little brat.”
He leans against the door, looking cool. He looks down his chin at me, acting like he’s the boss. He probably bothered Cecilia. Hmm, what did he say?
“Uh, please tell me you’re not going to say you like Cecilia too.”
“What? No! As if I’d like mixed blood like her! Are you teasing me?!”
“Ah, I see. Good.”
He almost slid off the door he was leaning on, and his face turned red.
“What do you mean, ‘good’?”
He sounds angry, but I ignored him. If any more of my companions start complaining, I won’t be able to handle it.
“Hey, don’t ignore me! Are you saying I’m not good enough for that little girl?!”
“Yes, that’s right. Please leave.”
I forcefully pushed Lorenz out and closed the door. He stood outside, angrily. Meanwhile, Cecilia, not bothering with such a man, quickly washed her hands and took her seat.
