Finally, we had arrived at the Dark Elf village, but Cecilia had gone ahead while we were still devising our plan.
We hurried after Cecilia, who had gone on ahead. By the time we caught up to her, we were already quite close to the village.
“Hey, Cecilia, wait up! Don’t just go off on your own.”
“You’re the ones who decided to follow me. I’m just doing my job.”
She said that after turning around, then faced forward again and started walking.
“What’s with her all of a sudden? Let’s just turn back.”
Elana replied to Nina’s remark with a sigh.
“I’d like to, but it seems to be too late.”
Looking up and surveying our surroundings, we saw that several Dark Elf warriors had us surrounded. It was as if they had been waiting for us to arrive.
Then, a senior Dark Elf, clad in a black robe, emerged from the front.
“Welcome to our village, esteemed adventurers.”
“What is your purpose?”
In response to Cecilia’s question, the aged Dark Elf let out a disturbing laugh.
“There’s no need to rush. Since you’ve gone to the trouble of coming all this way, how about a cup of tea?”
“Don’t mess with me and answer my question. Otherwise, I’ll deliver a fitting judgment.”
The man laughed again.
“Hahahaha, what evidence do you have? You Light Elves always view us with hostility. But fine, if you’re so eager to talk, come this way.”
With swords pressed against our backs, we were half-forcibly led to the center of the village. The open space was surrounded by wooden fences, like a barricade.
“It really seems like they expected us.”
“Yes, of course. We’ve heard rumors about you.”
With that, the Dark Elves brought over two iron cages. Inside each, a large dog was confined. And these were no ordinary dogs. Their bodies were covered in a black rock, as if solidified magma, and bright red flames spewed from the gaps.
I looked back at everyone, but none of them seemed to have ever seen such a thing, and they all wore expressions of surprise.
“Fufufu, are you surprised? We’ve prepared something special for you. We went to the trouble of fetching them from Hell itself.”
As the man gave a signal, the heavy iron doors lifted with an unpleasant sound, and two Hell hounds slowly emerged.
