The two returned safely after successfully negotiating with the bandit group.
Both sides accepted each other’s terms, and the kidnapped individuals were safely returned to the village.
“Piyo, you were safe!”
“Big Sis!”
We, who had also managed to return safely, returned to the village as well. The sisters were embracing each other joyfully.
“It seems you resolved the situation, human who helped me.”
Standing next to Piyo’s older sister was a male, likely the brother Piyo had mentioned. He was bandaged in places, perhaps injured in battle. He was about the same height as me, or slightly taller.
“You must be quite tired. Please rest here in the village for a while. After that, I’d like to hear about what happened.”
Fortunately, only some houses were destroyed, and they seemed to be rebuilt within a week. I ended up staying at the old woman’s house. As I was walking, led by Piyo’s hand, I spotted the female bandit who had attacked us in the cave.
“I’m going to talk to her for a moment.”
I separated from Piyo for a moment and spoke to the woman.
“Hey, aren’t you the one from…?”
Upon seeing me, the woman flinched slightly and then bashfully averted her eyes.
“I-I’m sorry about that time.”
“No, it’s fine now. You listened to me. By the way, what are you doing?”
Looking at her attire, she was carrying a large amount of luggage on her back, as if she were about to go on a trip.
“Me? I’m going to investigate the root cause of this disturbance. If we continue to be encroached upon like this, this place will eventually become unsafe.”
That was true. The fact that they were being chased meant there was a possibility of this place also being affected.
“Come to think of it, where did you come from? You’re dressed strangely, are you a foreign merchant?”
I told her about my journey so far.
“I see. It’s hard to believe, but looking at you, it feels like it might be true.”
She muttered, “Did she come from a different place…”, and pondered for a while. Then, she replied, “Perhaps it was Teleportation Magic.”
