Three people were mistaken for intruders by a young Naga-tribe girl.
Sharin, who had taken a blow delivered from her hardened scales and thick tail with her entire body, was blown towards me.
“Oi, are you okay?!”
I caught Sharin as she flew towards me with both hands.
“Ugh… ugh.”
She was so badly damaged she couldn’t even breathe. The young Naga began to prepare for another attack.
“Wait! Wait, wait!”
Piyo, who had landed, rushed in between them.
“Move aside, intruders. Do you want to die too?”
“No, we’re not intruders! We just want to pass through here!”
The young Naga glared at Piyo as she earnestly explained.
“Don’t lie. I know you, you cat bandit. You two are her companions, right?!”
It seemed the Cat Bandit Group had caused trouble in the Naga Village as well.
“Well, well, we apologize about that. But these guys have their own circumstances. Can you let us pass for now?”
The girl tilted her head at my words.
“Hmm, perhaps. By the way, what are these circumstances? If you’re lying, I won’t let you get away with it.”
To the increasingly suspicious girl, I told her about the Cat Bandit Group’s past actions.
“I see. So, those cat bandits were also driven from their homes.”
“That’s right, that’s right. That’s why we’re on an adventure to solve it now!”
Piyo nodded vigorously. After a moment of silence, the young Naga girl opened her mouth sheepishly.
“Um, so… did I almost kill just a traveler?”
“Well, that seems to be the case.”
I glanced sideways at Sharin, who was limp in my arms.
“Wh-what? That’s because you guys were moving in a confusing way!”
“No, we weren’t. Besides, you’re the one who attacked us…”
“Argh, enough! Stop being noisy! I’ll treat you, so hurry up and follow me! Honestly.”
She started walking, her face bright red. She looked back, telling me to hurry up, and was puffing with anger.
“What a spoiled princess,”
Sharin whispered in a small voice with a slight smile.
