The three of us arrived near the town with Nina’s guidance.
With Nina’s help, we were able to reach the vicinity of the town where Sharin’s hideout was.
“That’s the town you were talking about.”
The scale was vastly different from the villages we had seen up until now, and its size was clearly discernible even from a distance. It was surrounded by stone walls, and many people were coming and going near the magnificent gate.
“Wow, it’s so big! Come on, let’s go quickly.”
“I told you, didn’t I? It’s no good.”
Piyo looked disappointed at Nina’s words.
“Ugh, Piyo wants to go too!”
“I told you that town is ruled by humans, right? Sharin, you still look somewhat human, so it’s probably fine for you.”
“That’s right. Although demi-humans and beastmen are present, it would likely be difficult for harpies and nagas.”
The two seemed to accept it, but I personally didn’t quite understand the distinction. Beastmen also seem to be treated differently from humans.
“But we came all this way…”
For Piyo, who was pouting, we decided to bypass the town and go near the entrance of the hideout.
Where Sharin led us, there was nothing in particular. If anything, it was just a rock placed on a thin wooden board.
“Where is the hideout?”
“It’s here, under this rock.”
It seemed they had covered a secret entrance with a wooden board. While it looked unguarded at first glance, it was remarkably inconspicuous, a clever way to hide it.
Just as Sharin was about to move the rock, a voice called out from behind.
“What are you doing there?!”
We quickly turned around to see a woman with the lower body of a horse, and two men standing there.
