That evening, we decided to borrow one of Leona’s empty houses. Everyone seemed happy to have lodging after so long. As we settled in, a monkey woman named Rinack suddenly hopped in through the window.
“Hey, want to take a bath? Bring some dry clothes and follow me.”
I was incredibly grateful that we could even take a bath. I let everyone else go ahead, planning to take my time and enjoy it alone later. I lay down on the bed and closed my heavy eyelids. Ah, it’s happiness to be able to sleep when you want to.
Someone was patting my cheek. I slowly opened my still-heavy eyelids to find Rinack right in front of me.
“Wake up! Aren’t you going to take a bath?”
“I… I’m fine after everyone else is done.”
I turned my body away, wanting to sleep a little longer. Rinack hopped over me and reappeared in front of me again.
“Your companions already went in ages ago. Get up already! I’m not free, you know. Honestly, what a troublesome man.”
She dragged me out, and we ended up at a natural hot spring in the wilderness. It was surrounded by rocks and seemed quite well-maintained. I never knew a place like this existed; no wonder the Human-Faced Dog would attack here.
“Come on, get undressed, get in!”
Before I could even process it, Rinack stripped me of my clothes and pushed me into the hot water. Because I jumped in so suddenly, it felt incredibly hot. I leaped up and headed for the edge.
“Hey, hey, I was enjoying the peace and quiet. Why did you bring this thing, Monkey?”
I recognized the voice and turned to see a werewolf woman and Leona there. Hastily, I turned my gaze back forward.
“Well, I *hate* bad smells. Enjoy your bath~”
Oh no… I didn’t want to look back. For many reasons.
“Don’t worry, we won’t eat you. Take your time.”
“Hmph. Idiot worm. Who would want to be here?”
It wasn’t that, but mixed bathing was just…awkward. However, it would be rude to stay like this, so I leaned against a rock and submerged myself up to my shoulders. I planned to leave as soon as possible. Leona was leaning her head back, eyes closed, next to me. The werewolf woman was also closing her eyes, still. When they were quiet like this, they looked rather cute. Their wet, matted fur looked quite endearing.
“Yo, what’s up? Oh, it’s an idiot worm, GEHAHHA.”
Someone else entered. I had a bad feeling about this. With a splash, a hyena beastman entered the hot water. He wasn’t particularly tall but was well-built, and his mouth, split to his ears, revealed thick fangs. And between his legs… wait?! I couldn’t help but do a double-take. I thought it was a woman, but was it actually a man? Still, she had breasts.
She was watching my confused face with amusement.
“Kehehe, what’s wrong, worm? See something interesting? If you want to stay in our village, just say the word, and I’ll make you a woman, hehekeke.”
The hyena woman grinned a fearsome smile. Now that I recall, I heard that female hyenas have pseudo-penises, but could beastmen be the same?
“Stop it. It’s rude to our guest.”
Leona chided her, and the hyena snorted and submerged herself in the water. I became frightened and left the place within five minutes.
