The enemy Necromancer made Lauren an offer to join him.
As Lauren began to run, the Dark Elf man laughed at her.
“Wh-what?! You’re trying to escape?” he chuckled. “Hehehe, I won’t let you!”
“Wh-what?!”
Countless hands emerged from the ground and grabbed Lauren’s legs.
“Did you really think I’d be standing here alone? Hohoho, as if! Haaa, shall I let you live to see me violate one of these corpses at a time?”
Unbelievable. Was this what it felt like to tremble with rage? My breathing quickened even though I wasn’t running. The Necromancer’s mouth dripped with saliva. If he was going to do something like that, I’d gouge out my own eyes first.
“L-let go! I-I can’t escape.”
I can’t escape. Then I have no choice but to fight. But I’m already at my limit. Besides, when it comes to Sharin, I can’t bring myself to attack.
“I wanted to let just Lauren escape, but it seems impossible for me. So, will you fight with me? We’re both going to die anyway, so I want to fight until the end.”
“R-right. I’d rather that than become that scoundrel’s woman, but what do we do?”
“Control me, like Sharin. I just can’t bring myself to do it all the way. That’s why I couldn’t reach her earlier.”
Lauren cried out “Eh?!” at my suggestion.
“I-I can do it, but… but, you mean, eh?!”
“There’s no time. My body already hurts and I’m swaying. It’s hard to even stand on my own. Lauren, you can move living things, right?”
She seemed hesitant, but seeing the approaching horde of corpses, she must have made up her mind. She revealed an iron glove from under her sleeve.
“O-okay, I’ll do it, but don’t cry out in pain. It makes me sick.”
Then, a sharp pain shot through my back and arm. The electric shock ran down my spine and to my legs. My body stiffened, and my fingertips twitched. It felt like I was moving against my will. No, it wasn’t just like that; it truly was.
“I-I’m going. Don’t resist.”
I’m sure thin needles are stuck in my body, with threads extending from them. The next moment, my arms and legs moved with a jolt. My vision swayed because my head couldn’t keep up. I was moving completely on my own. But this hurts quite a bit. It feels like I’m constantly being subjected to strong electricity all over my body. She told me not to cry out, so I’m holding back, but every time my muscles move, pain shoots through me.
It’s still manageable because I’m relaxing my whole body, but could Sharin be enduring this much pain constantly? She’s forcing movement on something resisting, how cruel.
“Hahaha, what do you think you’re doing? Good, good, entertain me!”
Suddenly, the corpses leaped at me all at once. I could feel Lauren’s tension through my back. It felt like a taut string. My body tingled and my knees buckled. I dodged the swinging arm of a corpse, slipped through its legs, and used my arms like springs to stand up. At the same time, I thrust the dagger in my hand upwards into the corpse’s jaw and kicked it away.
I then pulled the sword out, dropping it to the ground. Amazing, it’s like I’m not myself. Maybe I should have Lauren control me from now on. But my whole body felt like it was being torn apart. My muscles screamed. It’s only natural that there’s a backlash when I’m forced to move beyond my control.
My body continued to move without rest. I dodged Sharin, who was approaching, by twisting my back away from her blade.
“Ouch…”
I almost let out a cry and clenched my teeth. My body isn’t that flexible! I sprang back and grabbed Sharin’s outstretched arm. I then pinned her to the ground with her in my armpit. I could hear her grinding her teeth next to my ear. I almost closed my eyes.
“No! Keep your eyes open!”
Lauren’s angry shout came from a distance. I was a little surprised she could shout so loudly. Sharin pushed back with incredible force, trying to throw me off.
“A-Arisugawa, I’m sorry, for this…”
“Where are the threads?!”
She pointed to my back with her gaze. But I couldn’t skillfully cut the threads while being suppressed. I have to hurry, I’m being pushed back more and more.
Then my hands, which were pushing, moved on their own and thrust my sword into Sharin’s back.
