Just as we left town, our luggage was stolen by goblins.
The goblins left as if mocking our panic.
“Haa, damn it, what were they? Hey everyone, are you okay?”
Fortunately, we were only tired and not injured.
“This is terrible. The goblins must have been waiting for us to leave our luggage behind.”
“They may be small, but they’re cunning and act in groups. Individually, they’re nothing, but together they’re a troublesome bunch.”
I nodded in dismay at Sharin’s explanation.
It seemed true they were cunning, as they had expertly stolen only the luggage with food.
“Waaah, Piyo’s snacks are all gone!”
“For now, let’s calm down, eat what little food we have left, and then we’ll figure something out.”
Everyone agreed with my words, but Nina didn’t seem to.
“Hah? What are you saying? This food won’t even last a day! It’ll take at least two more days to reach the next town from here!”
Then Nina roughly started packing up.
“Rest is over, let’s go quickly.”
And then she quickly started moving forward. There was no other choice but to follow her silently.
“Can I have the map for a moment?”
Nina took the map from Philiana and left the road, entering the bushes.
“Nina-san, that way is dangerous,” Pauline called out worriedly from behind. Ignoring her, Nina pushed further into the forest where dense grass grew.
“She intends to cut through this forest. It’s a shortcut, but we don’t know what might be lurking, so let’s be cautious.”
Nina hurried ahead, cutting through the surrounding grass without looking back. The area was dense with grass and trees, making it look like a jungle.
We pushed through the grass, making sure not to get separated.
