We restock our supplies in the Arachne village.
We decided to explore the Arachne tribe’s village to resupply. Piyo was happily climbing the complex, athletic-looking suspension bridges.
“Hey, don’t stray too far!”
“Honestly…” I sighed and looked to my side, only to find Sharin gone. I quickly looked around and saw her staring intently at the merchandise in a clothing store.
“What, do you like this outfit?”
All that was displayed was a plain, solid white long-sleeved shirt. However, it had a sheen like silk and felt soft to the touch.
“Th-, this is… is this made from Arachne thread? If I had just this one piece, I could afford to live for a week.”
Sharin’s eyes sparkled.
“Is it really that amazing?”
Upon hearing my words, Sharin excitedly replied in a rush.
“Arachne thread is said to be a phantom thread, and this is my first time seeing the real thing! And the price is cheap too! It’s only three small gold coins, but it would easily fetch ten in town!”
Since one small gold coin is worth about ten thousand yen, this would be a considerable profit.
“Fufu, you have a discerning eye, customer,” a shop employee, a woman, suddenly appeared from the back of the store.
“Ah, N-, no, I don’t have any money on me right now, so I’ll come back another time!”
Sharin stepped back and flapped her hands.
“Oh, a rare face. Not many people come near this forest because it’s a bit eerie. Though, it is nice and quiet.”
Indeed, the passing Arachne were looking at us with curious expressions.
“We’re traveling.”
“Are you perhaps adventurers?”
“We’re travelers, more than adventurers.”
The shop employee looked surprised when Pauline suddenly appeared from the side.
“Oh my, what’s a Honeybee doing here? And all alone? What strange things happen.”
We learned the way to the market where food was sold from the shop employee and left.
