Witnessing her kin being killed before her eyes, Philiana became nauseous.
We supported a stumbling Philiana and somehow managed to reach the village.
“For the time being, I’ll go and talk to them.”
As I said that and was about to enter the village, a familiar voice called from the side.
“Oh my, aren’t you the same group we met then? What happened?”
Looking in the direction of the voice, I saw the Satyr woman we had met before. She had short brown hair, eyes of the same color, and was dressed casually in pants and a shirt.
“I apologize for the sudden request, but I need your help for a bit. One of my companions is not feeling well.”
She then looked at us and grinned.
“What, what, what? You don’t mean… this kind of business, do you?”
The Satyr woman playfully put up her pinky finger, made a ring with it, and laughed vulgarly.
“No, it’s not about that right now.”
“Then, is it that time of the month? Does it happen to horses too?”
Her insensitivity made my blood boil. I couldn’t afford to joke about such things right now.
“Alright, alright, I get it. Don’t make such a scary face, big brother. Come on, come inside.”
She patted me on the shoulder vigorously and guided me into the village.
Inside, people with similar appearances to her were moving around busily. The buildings were made from large trees and had a solid feel, contrasting with those of the Elves. They were also quite large.
As the residents noticed our presence, they gathered around us.
“Hey, hey, move back, move back. This isn’t a show. These are guests, so go on home, go home.”
“Hey, what’s that Centaur girl’s name? Come on, tell me!”
Even as they spoke, some tried to pester us.
“Ugh, I can’t help it.”
“Hey, don’t touch her. I already told you, it’s not the time for this!”
Ignoring my words, she reluctantly resumed guiding us.
After a while, we were led to a larger warehouse. Inside were farming tools, wooden barrels, and hay.
“I’m sorry to bring you to a place like this, but the floor here is so worn out, it might not hold your weight.”
I ignored her vulgar joke and sat Philiana down on the floor. Her complexion had improved since earlier.
“I’m sorry for causing everyone trouble because of me. I’m a failure as a Knight.”
“Everyone feels fear. There is no one who does not.”
I nodded at Sharin’s words. Honestly, it was because Philiana had collapsed that I was able to remain somewhat calm. The smell of splattered blood still lingered in the back of my nose, making me feel sick.
We decided to rest in this hut for a while.
